After clicking on the not very visible title "Apple and Education" a section showing how its products can be used for more effective and interactive education will appear on the main page of the company's website. Now there are several new examples of the use of iPads and a wide range of applications to create study plans more interesting for both students and teachers.

Two stories Apple stuck and one of them featuring Jodie Deinhammer, a biology teacher in Coppell, Texas. She works with the iPad, iTunes U, digital textbooks and many applications when designing her anatomy and physiology lessons. Here, the process of learning about the human heart is divided into four phases, each of which describes what it involves and what tools, i.e. applications, are used for it.

The topic is always introduced using interactive digital textbooks, followed by further development of knowledge by identifying parts on heart models, studying histology, measuring heart rate and analyzing its changes, and dissection with the assistance of educational applications.

This is followed by a test of students' knowledge through several different methods, among which everyone chooses the most suitable one - for example, creating an informative stop-motion video. Finally, students become teachers themselves when they publish the results of applying their knowledge in the form of a course on iTunes U "Health Without Borders".

The second specific case looks at the classrooms and curriculum of the Philadelphia Performing Arts School. Here, teachers of different subjects work together to create their own study materials so that they best reflect the specific and current needs of students. The result is a study that aims to promote both the knowledge and creativity of future generations.

The video on the site shows an example from a chemistry lesson where students create paper cubes with the names of the elements. Through the virtual reality of the Elements 4D application, which transforms paper cubes into interactive virtual three-dimensional objects, one can then observe the reactions of the elements with each other and stimulate understanding and the desire for further knowledge. The list of other applications used in the teaching concept includes the iWork package, iBooks Author, Volcano 360° and others.

Also interesting is the information that the school saves up to one hundred thousand dollars (2,5 million crowns) per year for teaching materials.

In the "Real Stories" section of the Apple website you will find many other examples of how iPads can be used in education.
