Apple sells accessories for each of its products. Except for one of them

In addition to the main products, Apple's Online Store also offers a wide range of accessories. In this regard, the Cupertino giant covers almost everything we could want to buy for our apples. The offer therefore includes, for example, various covers or cases, straps, localization pendants, additional batteries, chargers, cables, gimbals, stands, thermal mugs, tripods, drones, game controllers, microphones and many others. As you can see, there's definitely a lot to choose from, and whatever you need, you can most likely find it at Apple. On the other hand, the giant has completely left out one of its very popular products – AirPods.

Logically, however, Apple headphones can be stored in a case, which can protect them against scratches and other damage, for example. Just this one cases for AirPods moreover, we can literally buy them for a few crowns, while they are quite popular among apple growers. From this point of view, selling them directly to Apple does not make sense, as the giant misses an opportunity for further profit. At first glance, the whole situation can be quite confusing. But if we look at it from a slightly different point of view, suddenly the whole situation starts to make a little sense.

Uniqueness in the first place

The design of apple products plays an extremely important role. Apple has always tried to distinguish itself from the competition in its own way, thanks to which everyone was able to tell at first glance whether it was a product from the workshop of the Cupertino giant. A great example was, for example, MacBooks with a glowing logo on the back, MacBook Pro (2021) with a cut-out, or EarPods (subsequently also AirPods) in white, while competing headphones primarily rely on black. In the case of wireless Apple headphones, the white charging case also plays its role. Although some fans are calling for the arrival of, for example, space gray AirPods, for now it looks like we won't see anything similar.

It is therefore possible that Apple does not sell cases for AirPods for a simple reason - it does not want to hide their appearance, which would make the headphones, or their charging case, no longer recognizable. However, this is only speculation, which has never been officially confirmed.
