Apple has just revealed the official numbers from Friday's pre-sale of the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus - selling over four million of the new phones in 24 hours. That's a record number for the first day of pre-orders, and it's only the first wave that has ten countries.

Apple has admitted that interest in pre-ordering new iPhones has exceeded ready stocks, so even though many customers will receive new Apple phones this Friday, others will have to wait at least until October. Apple will release additional stocked units for the start of sales in brick-and-mortar Apple Stores on Friday.

To compare with previous models, the iPhone 5 two years ago it scored two million in pre-orders in the first 24 hours, the iPhone 4S a year before half that number. Last year, there were no pre-orders for the iPhone 5S, but in the first weekend, Apple together with the iPhone 5C sold nine million.

"iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are better in every way, and we're thrilled that customers love them as much as we do," Apple CEO Tim Cook said of the record-breaking launch.

From September 26, the new, larger iPhones will go on sale in another 20 countries, unfortunately the Czech Republic is not among them. iPhone 6 and 6 Plus should reach our market during October, but this information has not been officially confirmed yet.
