So I got one too. Compared to the 1G we have a bit of a disappointment. It was clear that it plays a maximum of 720P video, but the fact that even menus and photos do not go in 1080P is disgusting (with the old Apple TV 1080P). Viewing the same photos from MobileMe is heaven and earth when comparing the two generations. Music from the iTunes Store has completely disappeared from the menu - no previews or purchases - only movies! The only pluses are AirPlay from both iPad and iPhone (4.2beta3), new DO and that the device does not heat up. Streaming from a computer is also great (iTunes library and photos from Aperture&iPhoto). Workshop processing 1G a class higher. 2G is just a cheap black plastic plate, but for the money why not...
