Server editors Macrumors had the opportunity to take a look at the internal (i.e. non-public) build of iOS 13. In it, they discovered several links to a so far undisclosed novelty that Apple is apparently preparing for this year. It should be a special accessory, thanks to which it will be possible to monitor the movement and position of people/objects with the help of special pendants. That is, something that has been on the market for a long time from the manufacturer Tile.

The internal version of iOS 13 contains several images that hint at what the final product will look like. It should be a small white circle with a bitten apple logo in the middle. It will probably be a very thin device that will be attached either with the help of a magnet or through a carabiner or eyelet.

In iOS 13, the product is referred to as "B389" and there are a huge number of links to it in the system, which almost certainly confirm what the novelty will be used for. For example, a sentence "Tag your everyday items with B389 and never worry about losing them again". The new tracking device will use the innovative functionality of the Find My application, as well as a new way of tracking individual devices using Bluetooth beacon technology. The internal version of Find My even contains links to search for individual subjects that will be marked with this tag.

In the Find My application, it will reportedly be possible to set notifications in the event that there is a significant distance from marked objects. The device should supposedly be able to make sounds, just for the purposes of searching. It will be possible to set a kind of "Safe Location" for tracked objects, within which the user will not be notified in cases where the tracked objects move away. It will also be possible to share the location of tracked objects with other contacts.

As with iPhones, iPads, Macs, and other Apple products, Lost Device Mode will work. It will use the already mentioned tracking technology via Bluetooth beacon, when it will be possible to trace the location through all possible iPhones that will move around the lost device.

The locator should also support a special display with the help of augmented reality, when it will be possible, for example, to view the room where the tracked object is located through the phone's display. A balloon will levitate on the phone's display, indicating the position of the object.

According to the information that was still managed to be extracted from the internal version of iOS 13, the new product will have replaceable batteries (probably flat CR2032 or similar), as there are detailed instructions on how to replace the batteries in iOS 13. In the same way, there is information about notifications in cases where the battery is at the limit of discharge.

If we will get news now, we will find out relatively soon, on September 10, when the traditional keynote will take place.
