The first of December is known as World AIDS Day, and Apple has also prepared very carefully for this day. It launched a massive campaign to support the (RED) initiative on its website and in collaboration with third-party app developers. Part of the proceeds from the sold products and applications will go to the fight against AIDS in Africa.

Apple has created on its website special page, on which World AIDS Day and the (RED) initiative commemorates:

In the fight against AIDS in Africa, the (RED) initiative, together with the global health community, has reached a decisive turning point. For the first time in more than thirty years, a generation of children may be born without the disease. Your purchases on World AIDS Day and through Apps for (RED) can have a lasting impact on the future of millions of people.

The whole campaign was kicked off by a big event across the App Store, as Apple joined forces with third-party developers who also repainted their applications red in support of (RED) and offered new and exclusive content in them. These are a total of 25 popular apps that you can find in (RED) versions in the App Store from Monday, November 24th until December 7th. With every purchase of the app or the content inside, 100% of the proceeds will go to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS.

Angry Birds, Clash of Clans, djay 2, Clear, Paper, FIFA 15 Ultimate Team, Threes! or Monument Valley.

Apple will also do its part - donating a portion of the proceeds from all products sold in its store on December 1, including accessories and gift cards, to the Global Fund. At the same time, Apple points out that the Global Fund can be supported throughout the year by purchasing special red editions of Apple products.
