Anonymous sources close to the issue during this week announced magazine CRN, that Apple has entered into an undisclosed but significant deal with Google. This success of Google as a cloud storage provider connects to success with a contract with Spotify, which he signed last month.

It has been (unofficially) known since 2011 that a large part of Apple's cloud services are provided by Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, also currently the two largest providers in the industry. Google Cloud Platform is third, but is trying to improve its position by competing on price as well as quality.

A contract with Apple, which is said to be investing between 400 and 600 million dollars (approximately between 9,5 and 14 billion crowns) in Google's cloud, could significantly help it gain a stronger position on the market. Apple has so far paid Amazon Web Services a billion dollars a year, and it is possible that this amount will now be reduced in favor of the company, which in other ways is a big competitor of the iPhone maker.

But Apple does not want to rely only on the services of Amazon, Microsoft and Google. It is currently expanding its data center in Prineville, Oregon, USA, and building new ones in Ireland, Denmark, Reno, Nevada, and Arizona. The Arizona data center is to become the "headquarters" of Apple's global data network and is said to be one of its biggest investments. Apple is currently investing 3,9 billion dollars (approx. 93 billion crowns) in the expansion of its data centers.
