Apple just introduced the new 21,5″ and 27″ iMac. The new generation of desktop computers directly follows on from its predecessor and receives more powerful components. In fact, this is a classic hardware update in the form of a newer generation of processors and a more powerful graphics card.

The smaller 21,5-inch iMac now offers quad-core and six-core Intel Core 8th generation processors. The larger 27-inch iMac can now be configured with a six-core or eight-core 9th generation Intel Core processor. According to Apple, the new CPUs should provide iMacs with up to twice the performance compared to the previous generation.

In the case of both new iMacs, it is also possible to configure a Radeon Pro Vega graphics card. The 21,5″ variant is specifically a Vega 20 with 4 GB of memory. For the variant with a 27″ display, Vega 48 with 8 GB memory. More powerful graphics can only be added to the highest configurations and for an additional fee of 11 crowns or 200 CZK.

Both base models are equipped with a Fusion Drive unit, which means that Apple still hasn't completely said goodbye to mechanical drives. However, computers can be equipped with up to 1TB or 2TB SSDs for an additional fee. The operating memory is basically 8 GB, but the smaller model can be configured up to 32 GB and the larger iMac even up to 64 GB of RAM.

The 21,5-inch iMac with Retina 4K display starts at 39 crowns. The larger 990-inch model with Retina 27K display can be purchased from 5 crowns. Both computers can be ordered now on Apple's website with estimated delivery between March 26 and 28.
