For several months now, there has been quite a lot of talk about the arrival of a new 12,9″ iPad, which should boast a rather fundamental innovation. We are, of course, talking about the so-called Mini-LED technology. The Apple tablet will still rely on a classic LCD panel, but with a so-called Mini-LED backlight, thanks to which the quality of the image will increase, the brightness, contrast ratio and the like will improve. In general, it could be said that this combination will bring us the benefits of OLED displays without having to worry about burning pixels, for example.

iPad Pro Mini LED

According to the latest information from the DigiTimes portal, which comes directly from the Apple supply chain, we could expect this product within a few weeks. It should be presented at the end of March, or at the beginning of the second quarter of this year, i.e. in April at the latest. A performance shift is still expected from the upcoming iPad Pro, thanks to the faster A14X chip. At the same time, this tablet, following the example of the iPhone 12 introduced last year, should also offer support for 5G networks in the case of the Wi-Fi + Cellular variant. These reports go hand in hand with yesterday's announcement by a legitimate leaker named Kang who predicted the date of the upcoming keynote. The leaker claims that Apple is planning this year's first online conference on Tuesday, April 23.

The iPad Pro received its last update last March, when we saw minor changes in the form of a slightly improved A12Z Bionic chip, an ultra-wide-angle lens, a LiDAR scanner and better microphones. For now, however, it is not clear whether the 11″ iPad Pro will also receive the aforementioned improvements with Mini-LED technology. Almost all leaks and predictions only mention the larger, 12,9″ variant. Anyway, the Cupertino company usually improves both models at the same time.

The concept of the AirTags locator tag:

Apart from the new iPad Pro, a number of other products are expected from this year's first Keynote. Probably the most anticipated piece is the long-vaunted AirTags location tag, which has been mentioned several times in the code of the iOS operating system. There is still talk of a new generation of Apple TV, AirPods headphones and other Macs with a chip from the Apple Silicon family, but we will probably have to wait.
