Apple recently enriched its ranks with reinforcements from Google. Ian Goodfellow will join the Special Projects Group in Cupertino. At Google, Goodfellow dealt with artificial intelligence, and he will also be in charge of the same field at Apple, where he will hold the position of director of machine learning in the aforementioned group. He stated this recently on his personal profile on a professional network LinkedIn.

This is not the first personnel change that Apple has made in the field of artificial intelligence recently. About a year ago, Google's head of search and artificial intelligence, John Giannandrea, joined the Cupertino company. Last December, he was promoted to the position of vice president of machine learning and artificial intelligence strategy, where he reports directly to Tim Cook.

At the beginning of this year, in addition to his position abandoned Vice President of the Siri Division. All teams responsible for work related to artificial intelligence are overseen at Apple by John Giannandrea. As part of this change, for example, the Siri and Core ML divisions were merged.
