It took Apple three days to release new versions of operating systems for iPhones, iPads, Apple Watch and Apple TV. Tonight they also saw computer owners. A few minutes ago, the company released the latest macOS 10.13.5 update. It brings one major innovation and a few other little things.

If you have a compatible device, the update should appear in the Mac App Store. In order, the fifth major update of the current version of macOS brings several big news. First of all, this is support for iMessage synchronization via iCloud - a feature that other Apple products received earlier this week. With this feature, your iMessage conversations will be constantly updated across all your Apple devices. If you delete a message on one, it will also be deleted on all others. In addition, conversations will be backed up on iCloud, so you won't lose them in case of sudden device damage.

In addition to the aforementioned news, the new version of macOS contains several other improvements. Especially regarding bug fixes and optimization improvements. Unfortunately, Apple failed to implement support for the AirPlay 2 protocol, so Macs still don't support it, which is a bit strange considering that iPhones, iPads and Apple TV received support earlier in the week. This is most likely the last big hit to macOS 10.13. Apple will present its successor at WWDC next week, and the new operating system will be released in the fall. The first beta versions (open and closed) will appear during the holidays.
