In the last few days, quite interesting speculation has flown through the Internet, according to which Apple should currently be working on the development of its own game console in the style of the Nintendo Switch. Information first appeared on Korean forum and its subsequent sharing was taken care of by a Twitter user appearing as @FrontTron. Specifically, the Cupertino giant should be developing a hybrid game console. Although the speculation is not substantiated by anything, it managed to gain quite solid popularity within two days.

Apple Bandai Pippin from 1996:

Additionally, this potential product should come with a brand new chip. This means that we would not find pieces from the A or M series in it. Instead, a chip aimed directly at the gaming sphere should arrive with significantly better graphics performance and ray tracing. At the same time, the giant from Cupertino should now negotiate with several leading game studios, including Ubisoft, which has titles such as Assassin's Creed, Far Cry and Watch Dogs, with which it is negotiating the development of their games for the "upcoming" console. But the whole thing has one big catch. Such a product would make absolutely no sense in Apple's offer, and Apple fans simply cannot imagine it alongside an iPad or Apple TV, which offers its own Apple Arcade game platform, and at the same time they have no problem connecting a controller either.

Nintendo Switch

Moreover, no verified source has predicted anything like this before. Just last year, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman claimed that Apple was working on a new Apple TV with a greater focus on gaming. This was also confirmed by a leaker known as Fudge, who also added that the new TV will have an A14X chip. However, it is no longer clear whether they were referring to the Apple TV 4K presented in April, or to a model that has not yet been presented. The current Apple TV has rather taken a few steps back with regard to playing games. It is only equipped with an A12 Bionic chip and a new Siri Remote controller was revealed alongside it, which for some incomprehensible reason does not have an accelerometer and gyroscope, and therefore cannot be used as a game controller.

In addition, Apple has already released one game console in the past, specifically in 1996. The problem, however, is that it was a huge flop, which was immediately swept off the table after the return of Steve Jobs and its sales were cancelled. The development of a new console in the style of the Nintendo Switch therefore makes absolutely no sense, not only from our point of view. How do you view this situation? Would you welcome Apple trying to break into this market?
