A few days ago, Jablíčkář reported that Apple is in development invests a smaller portion of their profits than other tech giants. The article used a quote from Steve Jobs from 1998 that "innovation has nothing to do with how many dollars you have for science and research." A new survey Boston Consulting proves him right.

The company asked one and a half thousand CEOs worldwide which companies (other than their own) they consider to be the most innovative in their industry. She then combined this information with data on how much money was returned to stockholders over the past five years. The result is a ranking of fifty companies that have the best name in terms of innovation.

Apple is at its peak, followed by Google, Tesla Motors, Microsoft and Samsung Group. For example, Amazon is ninth, IBM thirteenth, Yahoo sixteenth and Facebook twenty-eighth.

Other research conducted by the company Consumer Reports, then shows that the most reliable and user-satisfying laptops are MacBooks. 58 respondents who bought a new laptop between 2010 and 2015 took part in this survey.

While the MacBook failed in less than ten percent of users in its first three years, the second most reliable computer brand, Samsung, experienced a problem with 16% of devices during the same period. Owners of Gateway laptops also experienced the same percentage of failures. Windows computers run an average of 20 hours a week, while OS X computers run 23 hours, i.e. 15% more.

More specifically, among MacBooks, the Air series are the most reliable, failing only 7% of the time in the surveyed group. Behind them is the Pro series, which had a hardware problem with 9% of owners. The most reliable laptops primarily for Windows are Gateway's NV and LT series, which have failure rates of 13 and 14%. It is followed by ATIV Books from Samsung (14%), ThinkPads from Lenovo (15%) and Dell XPS (15%).

The worst were laptops from the ENVY series from HP (20%) and the Lenovo Y series (up to 23%). Ultimately, of those that failed and were repaired, 55 percent of Windows and 42 percent of OS X laptops failed again.

What this ranking doesn't take into account is repair costs, which tend to be higher for MacBooks than other brands. Editor ZDNet he also notes that most Windows laptops are significantly cheaper than even a basic MacBook Air. At the same time, however, it is necessary to refer to the mentioned ENVY series from HP. It contains rather more expensive machines in the Windows world, but it still has almost the highest failure rate.

Consumer Reports also asked the same groups about satisfaction. 71% of MacBook users were "completely satisfied with the reliability of the device". Owners of Windows laptops, on the other hand, were rather dissatisfied - only 38% found their device reliable.
