Apple circles have been talking about the arrival of a flexible iPhone for years, which should become a serious competitor for models from Samsung. Samsung is currently the unrivaled king of the flexible device market. So far, it has already released four generations of Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold models, which move several steps forward every year. That's why fans are eagerly waiting to see how the other tech giants will react. However, they are not yet ready to enter this segment.

But it's clear that Apple is at least toying with the idea of a flexible iPhone. After all, registered patents focusing on the technology of flexible displays testify to this. In general, this segment is surrounded by many unknowns, and no one can say how the development of such an iPhone is going, when or if we will see it at all. Now, however, extremely interesting information has surfaced, which in a way outlines Apple's vision and reveals what we could theoretically look forward to. Probably not for a flexible iPhone.

The first flexible device will surprise you

The latest information came directly from the current driver of the flexible device market - Samsung, specifically its Mobile Experience division - which shared its predictions in this particular segment with investors. He even told suppliers that the flexible phone market will grow by 2025% by 80, and that an important competitor is on the way. According to him, Apple is to come up with its own flexible device in 2024. But in reality, it is not supposed to be an iPhone at all. Current news, on the other hand, mentions the arrival of flexible tablets and laptops, which has not been talked about so much so far.

However, it actually makes sense. Due to current technology, flexible phones feel clumsy in a way, and can be accompanied by more weight. This goes absolutely against the unwritten rules of Apple and its iPhones, in which the giant partly combines minimalism, refined design, and above all, overall practicality, which is a fundamental problem in this case. It is therefore possible that Apple has decided on a slightly different path and will first start developing flexible iPads and MacBooks.

Flexible iPad with up to 16″ display

Looking back at some of the earlier speculations, it's quite possible that Apple has been working on developing a flexible iPhone for some time. Recently, leaks have been spreading through the Apple community about the arrival of the largest iPad to date with a significantly larger screen, which should offer a diagonal of up to 16". Although at first glance it seemed that this news made absolutely no sense given the current offer of Apple tablets, now it starts to fit together. In theory, we can expect a flexible iPad with a huge display, which could be the perfect partner for various graphic designers, graphic artists and other creatives who need a quality device with a larger screen. At the same time, flexible display technology would make it easier to carry such a product.

Whether we will actually see a flexible iPad is, of course, unclear for now. As we mentioned above, reports from Samsung predict Apple's entry into this market only in 2024. Speculations about the arrival of a larger iPad, on the other hand, talk about the years 2023 to 2024. On the other hand, it may also happen that the whole project will be postponed, or vice versa will not be implemented at all. Would you rather have a flexible iPad, or are you still hoping for such an iPhone to arrive soon?
