Yesterday it was exactly one week since Apple Pay arrived on the domestic market. As part of the first wave, the payment service is supported by six different banks, the fintech Twisto and the company Edenred providing virtual meal vouchers. Already after the first ones 24 hours according to the official figures, it was clear that there is enormous interest in Apple Pay. But it doesn't stop even after a week, which is proven by the most recent statistics we managed to obtain.

We asked all banking and non-banking institutions, and we got answers from almost all of them except Edenred, whose press department has not yet responded to us, and J&T Bank, which is the only one refusing to provide data.

Česká spořitelna currently has the largest number of clients using Apple Pay, where over 36 users have activated iPhone and Apple Watch payments and made over 105 transactions. Komerční banka can also boast of approximately the same number of transactions, where the largest amount of money flowed through Apple Pay – almost 51 million crowns.

Banks often also revealed several other interesting facts to us. For example, a MONETY client paid CZK 66 for premium airline tickets via Apple Pay, which was the highest amount ever. At Komerční banka (and probably also at other institutions), mostly men (000%) pay via iPhone or Apple Watch, with the youngest being only 84 years old and the oldest 13 years old. Česká spořitelna is one of the few banks that also offers withdrawals from ATMs through Apple Pay – clients made a total of 81 withdrawals in the total volume of more than 980 million crowns until yesterday.

Undoubtedly, the statistics of Czech fintech Twisto, which offers Apple Pay for those whose bank does not support the service in the first wave, are also interesting. Thanks to this, Michal Šmída's startup gained over 3 new clients. In total, 500 users already use the service at Twista.
