Last year, like the previous one, was marked by the expansion of countries in which it is possible to pay with Apple Pay. There were several waves of expansion last year, and we've already had a few this year. Now, new information has emerged that Apple Pay will be launched in three more European countries, including one right next door to us. Unfortunately, there is no mention of the Czech Republic in this context, and there is no indication yet that we will also see Apple Pay this year.

The information came during a conference call with shareholders, during which Apple published economic results for the past quarter. In connection with the increasing popularity of Apple Pay, there was information that the service will be extended to Poland, Norway and Ukraine in the course of the year. Tim Cook was not specific, saying that users will see the launch 'in the next few months'. In our case, we can only watch the whole situation with a sigh. If the launch of the service in the Czech Republic were considered (or even discussed), Tim Cook would probably mention us as well. It is therefore less and less likely that we will see the implementation of Apple Pay in the Czech Republic this year.

Paying with Apple Pay is becoming more and more popular. Year-on-year, the number of payments made doubled and the volume of transactions more than tripled. The entire payment ecosystem is helped, for example, by integration into payment terminals of public mass transport in world capitals, etc.
