Apple has just officially announced the WWDC 2020 conference. It will take place in June (the exact date is not yet known), however, do not expect a classic event like in previous years. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, WWDC will be held online only. Apple calls it "a whole new online experience."

iOS14, watchOS 7, macOS 10.16 or tvOS 14 are expected to be presented at WWDC. The company will also focus on the smart home, and part of the conference will also be dedicated to developers. Apple Vice President Phil Schiller said that due to the current situation surrounding the coronavirus, Apple had to change the format of the conference. In previous years, the event was attended by more than five thousand people, which is an unthinkable number at the time. Especially when President Donald Trump is expected to declare a state of emergency across the country and the gathering of people will be more limited.

The event was normally held in the city of San Jose, for which it was certainly an important event from an economic point of view. Since this year's WWDC will be online, Apple has decided to donate $1 million to organizations in San Jose. The goal is to at least partially support the local economy.

In the coming weeks, we should know more information about the whole event, including the broadcast schedule and the exact date when it will take place. And even if the event will only be online, it certainly does not mean that it will be a small event. The company's vice president, Craig Federighi, said that they have prepared a lot of new things for this year.
