It is true that if we were to compare iPadOS with macOS, then in the latter system you definitely have a lot more freedom and work here is simply different and more pleasant than in iPadOS.

The good news is that we don't have to talk about the connection between iPadOS and macOS in the past tense. A little while ago, Apple announced via a press release that it decided to merge these two mentioned systems into a single one in the near future. This is completely unexpected news for several reasons. Primarily, probably none of us expected a complete connection, but a redesign of iPadOS so that it is more similar and equal to macOS. At the same time, Apple's top representatives themselves have strictly stated several times in the past that the combination of these two systems will simply never happen. Of course, opinions can change over time, and quite frankly – is there anyone who would complain about the iPadOS and macOS pairing? I think definitely not.
Apple is changing… for the better
What we have been observing in the editorial office for a long time is confirmed again. We notice that Apple is simply changing and trying to pay more attention to fulfilling the wishes and desires of its customers. It all kind of started with the arrival of the iPhone 13 (Pro), with which Apple finally got rid of the constant thinning of the body and the reduction of the battery and after a few years finally came up with a really big battery. Subsequently, he listened to other requests, this time from repairmen, when he gave them the option of replacing the display while maintaining a functional Face ID, which was not possible a few weeks after the release of the "thirteens". At the same time, the arrival of the 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pro (2021) with restored connectivity and a new design cannot be overlooked, along with the introduction of a new program for “home” repairs of Apple devices. And now comes the next big thing in the form of iPadOS and macOS coming together.

In any case, it is necessary to mention that despite the merger of these two systems, there will be no merger of iPad and Mac as products. Therefore, users will continue to be able to choose whether they want to use a tablet or a computer. For Mac users, this will not be a big change, as the system will remain practically untouched here. The biggest change will therefore be felt by iPadOS users, for whom the system will most likely change completely. However, Apple is not boasting any details for now, and the whole press release really raises clouds of questions, but we don't know the answers to them yet. It is therefore not clear, for example, whether the names of these two systems will also be combined into one, or whether the names will be retained, which would be meaningful if the systems were slightly different from each other in terms of some functions and options. So we will have to wait for more information.

Option to choose the system after startup or during configuration?
In any case, some leading Apple leakers state that iPad users could choose after the first launch whether they want to continue using the classic version of iPadOS, or whether they want to switch to the version that will be practically the same as macOS. In addition, information has also emerged from another barrel, where other leading leakers state that users will only be able to choose the system when configuring their iPad. This means that subsequently, after the purchase, the user could no longer change the system. According to the leakers, the macOS operating system for iPad should be available for an additional fee of $139, i.e. roughly three thousand crowns. Among other things, this is confirmed by a leaked screenshot from the internal test Apple Online Store, which you can view below. However, it is necessary to mention that both of these pieces of information are unconfirmed and are rather speculations.

As I mentioned above, Apple really surprised us by combining iPadOS with macOS. I think all the iPad fans can start celebrating because this is exactly what they wanted. And at the same time, in my opinion, Apple can also start celebrating, which will definitely increase the sales of Apple tablets with this step.
