Some users have noticed problems with the new MacBook Pro with retina display. The keyboard or trackpad randomly stops working for no apparent reason. This problem only affects notebooks released this year, specifically this month, the new MacBook Pros were introduced on October 22.
Apple released on its support center article, according to which he is aware of the error and assures that he is working on the correction:
Apple is aware of circumstances where the built-in keyboard and multi-touch trackpad on the 13″ MacBook Pro with Retina Display (late-2013) may stop working and is working on an update to resolve this behavior.
However, this problem is not new to Apple laptops. We've also seen it on older MacBook Pro 13″ from 2010. A temporary solution is to snap the display for about a minute and open the lid again, which resets the keyboard and trackpad. Apple has had bad luck with the 13″ MacBook Pro with retina display, last year's model suffered from insufficient graphics performance, but unfortunately there is no software solution for this.
I have already experienced this problem. I had to do a hard restart, which fortunately worked. It happened with a higher processor load (importing videos to iMovie).
I have a MacBook Pro on order. How often does he do this?
Once in a while, just close me for a few seconds and open. If it's a software bug and they fix it in a few days, a week, then it's fine to live with as a tax for the first version. If it wasn't fast, I think it's 100% reason to complain
It only works if you put it to sleep for about 30-60 seconds and wake it up again (closed - open). It happened to me about 4 times today. it's annoying but better than a reset.
Here, unfortunately, it is confirmed that purchasing the first version of the product is quite a big risk. It's all being adjusted as people go along. In addition, when in these parts we have such a "very useful" service, where a person can stay without working equipment for 30 days.
I've also encountered this, in the week I've had it, it's happened to me 2 times already... But that doesn't change the fact that it's a great machine :-) ... Most importantly, there will be a SW patch for it.
If that was the only problem, but another problem is with BootCamp and Windows installation, as well as with the operation of dedicated graphics, which can destroy the battery in a short time under Windows. There was a problem with BootCamp and Windows even on the last MBA and it's been here for a few months now :-(
I also had a problem with bootcamp for a while, but in the end everything went completely smoothly. I managed to do it by uploading the installer to a flash drive via bootcamp assistance, including the bootcamp extension, and partitioned enough (all 3 items in the guide were ticked). after that, it is necessary to endure a couple of restarts and Windows is ready.
Well, it will eventually work out, but for everyone differently, for some at all + there are problems with the mapping of some keys and with the GT750M, someone may have had a problem with the backlight. With MBA 2013 (and maybe with rMBP too), for example, but with Win7, the keyboard, trackpad and even the USB version still do not work when restarting into the recovery console. On the apple forum, the topic about Win 8.1 on rMBP already has 170 posts, and the procedures I read there are voodoo like embroidered :-) And not to mention the communication with apple support.
Hello,
this problem happened to me twice, once today and yesterday for the first time. I bought a Mac immediately after it was delivered to itouch in Zline. It's a great machine, my last device from the apple family, I was hoping that this laptop would run without chopping and other glitches. If it's just a SW error, it doesn't bother me somehow. if it was a HW problem, I would be disappointed and insist on replacing the laptop within 2 hours. if anyone is interested in more information, we can be reached by email at jaroslavkadlcik@gmail.com
everyone at apple serves as it is!
