Often, a few days before the keynote, we come across leaked parts of the devices that are yet to be presented, this time Apple itself was deprived of a moment of surprise. In the ebook iPad User Guide for iOS 8 he accidentally mentioned some details about the upcoming iPads in the preview images in the iBookstore, which he apparently didn't want to reveal until tomorrow night.

First of all, thanks to the images, we know the official names of the new tablets - iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3. The names are quite expected, the only surprise for some may be the iPad mini, which in the 2nd generation was surprisingly called "iPad mini with Retina display", while its predecessor was only called "iPad mini". In addition, Apple confirmed the Touch ID function in the images, i.e. the fingerprint reader built into the Home button, which can replace the password both for unlocking the phone and, for example, for buying applications in the App Store. As of iOS 8, it can also be used in third-party applications.

The last novelty is the possibility of taking pictures in batches, which we could see for the first time with the iPhone 5s. By holding down the trigger, the device takes up to several dozen photos in rapid succession, from which the user can choose the best ones and discard the rest. This feature will only be available for the iPad Air 2, so the two iPads will probably differ in some details. One such detail will probably be the camera. However, it is expected that the tablets should receive a 64-bit Apple A8 chip in both cases. In terms of appearance, the iPads will not change in any way, in the pictures they look identical to the current generation.
