Filip Brož During the spring update, Apple introduced not only new red iPhone a edited the tablet portfolio, but at the same time significantly limited the basic selection tapes for the Apple Watch, which are bundled directly with the new Apple Watch.
Just a fortnight ago, you could choose a new watch in several configurations on the Apple website. However, the Apple Watch S2 is now only available with sports bands or Milanese. In the case of silicone tapes, there were also color restrictions.
The Apple Watch Nike+ also has a simplified choice, where you can choose either a white sports strap or an anthracite black strap. The black volt strap and the matte silver volt strap were completely dropped from the game. These can now only be purchased separately, which also applies to a number of other straps.
There can be several explanations for why the Californian company approached this restriction. It may be a simple simplification where the new user has an easier choice, but it doesn't make much sense. Rather, Apple wants to stimulate more sales of individual straps. I am quite sad that all the nylon and leather straps have been dropped from the basic configurations.
If you go to buy the latest Apple Watch today and you want any kind of nylon or leather strap, you will automatically have to buy it separately, either in addition to the classic sports band or Milanese pull, which can appear directly in the box with the new Watch.
The restriction currently only applies to the official Apple Online Store. Most Czech stores report that they still have old stock. If you are thinking of buying a Watch and you don't want a silicone strap, but for example nylon, you can definitely get one. The same applies to the black and green volt strap for the Nike edition, which is very popular among people. Nike sports straps and a dozen nylon ones cost 1 crowns separately.
The only strap that Apple didn't touch during spring cleaning is the Apple Watch Edition, i.e. a case made of white ceramic, which you can still buy in the basic configuration only with a cloudy white sports strap. It costs 39 crowns.
It looks like Apple is testing what the sheep can handle. Because of a few crowns for keeping an account in the bank or for data in the phone, sheep howl in a pasture, but when Apple shaves them, then howl with happiness and it will still be explained as a positive?
Fortunately, there are many third-party manufacturers where one can choose - both according to quality and price. In truth, leather straps from Apple are worth 3 things. And I'm not even counting the price, which is exorbitant for the (poor) quality. Maybe Hermes... but it's not Apple.
I don't know .. I bought a couple of straps for a few dollars, they fit great .. I understand that apple doesn't like to make and offer overpriced straps when ebay, amazon, aliexpress, etc. are full of them. :)
Paying €730 for a Mickey Mouse watch – for me the time is not yet ripe, maybe not until the Series 3…
And they shove those tapes up their ass, especially Tim Cook!
I rather think that no one wanted some wild combinations and they were in stock. If you want to be different like this, let them pay extra. That's probably a link from Apple.
