If you thought the covid and chip crisis was over, just look at the delivery times of Apple products in its Apple Online Store. Unfortunately, the situation is still not rosy, especially when it comes to new Mac computers. If you grind your teeth on them, you probably shouldn't hesitate too much, otherwise you might overdo it.

For example, Quanta, which makes MacBook Pro models, has been able to restore only 30% of its production capacity at its Shanghai factory since restrictions were lifted last month. Not only the ongoing covid restrictions are to blame, but above all the lack of components, which of course include chips in particular. According to DigiTimes, although Apple has already switched from sea to air transport in order to shorten the transport time as much as possible, even with this step it cannot fully satiate the still hungry market.

Mac Studio and MacBook Pros are a problem

You only need to look at the Czech Apple Online Store to get an idea of the seriousness of the situation. If you had a crush on the latest Mac Studio, you will have to wait a month for just the basic configuration at the price of CZK 57, and two months for the higher configuration with the M1 Ultra chip at the price of CZK 117. It is no different with the autumn novelty of the company in the form of MacBook Pros. Whether you go for the 14" or 16" variant, or even just in the regular configurations, in both cases you will not see it until July 1 at the earliest, which is currently a long 52 days.

However, if you wanted a 13" MacBook Pro with an M1 chip, Apple obviously has plenty of them, as they will arrive the very next day after ordering. That's why it's rather strange that the MacBook Air with the M1 is quite different. With your current order, you won't get it until June 27, so you'll have to wait a month and a half here as well. With the Mac mini, the situation is stabilized, because you can have the one with the M1 chip immediately, this also applies to the 24" iMac.

If you want to buy new Apple computers, you can expect that the waiting time will be long, but this is really too much. The lack of Airs is quite a mystery, when 13" MacBooks are visibly enough. Unless the company was really preparing for his successor. But that would make sense even in the case of the smallest MacBook Pro. There is no waiting for iPhones, which you can have the very next day after ordering them, the same situation applies to iPads. A lot depends on the choice of strap for the Apple Watch, but if you want the completely normal one, you will get it the next day after ordering. The shortage really only affects the company's computers.
