In addition to new operating systems, Apple also presented a few pieces of hardware to the world at this year's WWDC. Among them was the long and impatiently awaited new Mac Pro, which impressed with its design, functions, modularity and the fact that it can climb to a truly astronomical price in its highest configuration. Phil Schiller, Apple's marketing chief, talked to a handful of selected journalists about the new Mac Pro.

Journalist Ina Fried from Axios decided to summarize the most interesting points of the entire interview. One of them, for example, is the fact that Apple's vision for the design of the new Mac Pro - which turned out to be slightly controversial and widely mocked on social networks - underwent significant changes over time, which is why the computer was finally introduced later than originally expected.

The discussed round holes on the front and back walls of the computer were created with the help of mechanical carving directly in the one-piece aluminum chassis. The idea for the design of this specific part of the Mac Pro's quirky design was born in Apple's laboratories even before the computer as such was even planned. For the purpose of use in data centers, the company plans to release a special version of the computer, which will be equipped with a practical chassis. This version should go on sale this fall.

As part of the interview, the second piece of hardware that was introduced this week was also discussed - the new Pro Display XDR was a focal point for Apple, and its purpose was to compete with the so-called reference monitors at very high prices.
