The creators of the project are Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day, who also worked on the hit sitcom It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which has been running on FX Networks (owned by Disney) for 14 years.

Rob McElhenney will also be one of the main actors of the sitcom. F. Murray Abraham will also perform alongside him (CW Longbottom), Danny Pudi (Brad), Imani Hakim (Dana), Charlotte Nicdao (poppy), David Hornsby (David), Ashley Burch (Rachel) and Jessie Ennis (Jo). According to The New York Times, the first door fell in March 2019, and the series was presented to the public at last year's E3.

Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet was originally supposed to premiere in the fall, but has been pushed back to February 7, 2020.
