Apple is often not the first manufacturer in the world to launch a new technology or gadget. Basically, quite often it is not the first, but the one thanks to which the given technology spreads among hundreds of millions of users worldwide. And it wouldn't be Apple if yesterday's iPhone XS model with dual sim support for the Chinese market didn't do it a little in its own way.

All the phones that Apple introduced yesterday are so-called Dual Sim, including the cheap iPhone Xr. Unfortunately, these are not classic Dual Sim phones in which you could insert two SIM cards. In addition to one classic SIM, Apple has bet on another in the form of an eSim, i.e. an electronic SIM card that does not physically exist and you simply activate it by purchasing the services of supported operators. By the way, you can read about the fact that this function is also supported by one Czech operator in article from this morning.

However, Apple also introduced a special iPhone XS Max model exclusively for the Chinese market, which is equipped with real support for two physical SIM cards. However, it wouldn't be Apple if you simply pulled out a pair of drawers from the phone, into which you would insert a pair of Sim cards. Even this Chinese iPhone XS Max does not have two, but only one drawer for SIM cards. However, not only one, but two Sim cards can be inserted into it, in such a way that the active sides of the cards face opposite sides. Apple even refers to one sim card as Front Sim and the other as Back Sim, i.e. the front and back cards. The image below shows how they are inserted into the phone.

The question is whether Apple wanted to save for another slot or just wanted to disturb the perfect lines of the phone as little as possible. But let's face it, as true Apple fans we will naturally believe in the second variant and at the same time we will be pleased that, even in the case of a function that has been common for years, Apple came up with something completely new and exclusive when introducing it to its product.
