Yahoo posted new statistics about using her popular photo network Flickr. The numbers show that the iPhone is traditionally the most popular camera among network users. But an even bigger success for the company from Cupertino is the fact that Apple also became the most popular camera brand on Flickr for the first time. 42% of all uploaded photos come from devices with a bitten apple in the logo.

Flickr's most popular device this year is the iPhone 6. It's followed by the iPhone 5s, Samsung Galaxy S5, iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 5. That in itself is a decent calling card for Tim Cook's company, but it must be admitted that traditional camera manufacturers like Canon and Nikon lags behind in the fight for the king of cameras mainly because they have hundreds of different models in their portfolio and their share is thus much more fragmented. Apple does not offer so many different devices, and the current iPhone series has an easier time fighting the competition for market share.

It is therefore an even greater success that Apple has become the most popular brand for the first time. It is followed by Samsung among the brands, followed by Canon with a 27% share and Nikon with a 16% share. Still a year ago at the same time, Canon relatively certainly held the first place, and in 2013 Nikon was also ahead of Apple, which held a share of 7,7% of uploaded photos. After all, you can see last year's and the previous year's numbers for yourself in the picture attached below.

Flickr, with a user base of 112 million users from 63 countries, is therefore an indicator of unfavorable development for traditional camera manufacturers. Classic cameras are in serious decline, at least in the internet space. Moreover, there is no indication that the situation could be reversed. In short, the phones already offer sufficient quality of the captured image and, in addition, they add unrivaled mobility, the speed of capturing the image and, above all, the ability to immediately work with the image further, whether this means its additional editing, sending a message or sharing it on a social network.
