Anonymous sources from several major record labels have shared their amazement at the success Apple Music has managed to record in its first month. It is said that more than ten million users have already listened to music through Apple's new streaming service, writes magazine Hits Daily Double.
The current largest streaming service, Spotify, has a total of twenty million users, but it has been acquiring them since 2006, when it was launched. It did not cross the ten million mark until five and a half years after its launch. Since Spotify was one of the pioneers of streaming music, this comparison is not very relevant, but Apple Music's numbers, if real, can be considered very high.
The question remains, however, how many of these people will stick with Apple Music once their three-month free trial expires. On the other hand, for some, 10 million may not be such a big number when we take into account how many devices are already running iOS 8.4 and how many users have access to Apple Music.
Apple itself has yet to release any results, but some copyright holders are said to have mentioned that it should; especially in the context of the number of plays for some of the most popular tracks reaching Spotify numbers. The result would be greater publicity, which would hopefully strengthen and streamline the promotion of Apple Music, the next important part of which is to be advertisements at this year's MTV Vide Music Awards. The nominations for them have already been announced on Beats 1 radio.
Because it's free. I have it turned on, but I still use Spotify. I find Apple Music terribly confusing and unergonomic…
For me, Apple music has advantages over spotify - better sound quality and much more content than spotify. Unfortunately, it has a lot of bugs - sometimes I can't start a certain song (It just seems to keep loading but never turns on even if I skip to the next song and go back). The search also works quite poorly (I would expect when entering the name of a song that the most popular one would come up first and not that I have to dig through some remixes, etc. You just usually have to write the full title + the name of the artist). A lot of people also complain about the control, but that doesn't bother me at all (Especially on the iPhone it works well for me, itunes on the mac is a little worse).
AM's stream quality is lower than Spotify's.
Really?

Well, that's a bit of a bold statement. I would certainly not draw such a conclusion from the test, and if you read it, neither did the authors of the article themselves. My experience is, for example, exactly the opposite, it will always depend, especially on the test sample.
While the test of a reputable magazine is a bold statement, your subjective one is not. ROFL
I'm afraid you don't wash/don't want to clean. But I can't help with that. ROFL
You obviously suffer from self-talk.
No it is not. Don't let the bitrate fool you
I.

I have Apple Music for two reasons, I want to try it and compare it to Spotify and it's free for 3 months, I don't even pay for Spotify, I have no reason, I have a rich supply of music on my Mac and I've had an iPod for 3 years and that's enough (16GB) . So in 3 months I'm logging out of Music.
I had the paid version of Spotify for almost 2 years. I switched to Apple Music with great anticipation. I have to say, however, that I was very disappointed by the graphic processing of the application, both on iPhone and Mac, and the whole complexity and lack of clarity almost bothers me... I don't know, it looks like I'll be happy to return to Spotify again after three months...
Both Spotify and Apple are bullshit. The pile of plates is not there. The quality is not great, maybe good for an iPhone, but not for streaming to a more decent hifi. In summary. Maybe good for an undemanding customer, but VKV might be enough for that. So why pay for it? I personally don't go premium.
I see. So yeah. In that case, you are one of the one tenth per thousand people who have absolute hearing or you are just plain stupid. Both Spotify and AM go at 320kbit/s, which on speakers (especially in a room, not headphones) is beyond the resolution of ordinary people...
How does that disprove what I wrote I wrote a fool? That is, there is simply not a lot of music. I don't really care how much it so-called goes, just the expression itself is a sign that you don't know what you're talking about. Such tame speech is really interesting. Do you even know how much a tenth of a thousand is??? If so, I assure you that many more people will know about it. Your nonsense is about the same level, I'll buy a Fabča no voe, a car like a car, what's an S Klasse from MB, I don't know anyway no. Four wheels and a steering wheel, it must be the same. By the way, speakers in the room will always be better than headphones. With that, you have gone completely out of your way and it can be seen that you are completely out of the loop musically and that you are the target group for these services. An undemanding customer.
I know exactly how much one tenth per million is. And just by the way, this is the official estimate of the number of people with absolute hearing. Maybe it would like to study a little and not deal with nonsense like the difference between Fabia and Mercedes.
Yes, the speakers in the room will be better, but provided that you have a room surrounded by foam, without furniture and completely soundproof. Of course I believe that whoever has an S Klasse as you write has their whole living room in mud to enjoy music with their B&W hi-fi system and listen to FLAC and wonder how dense it is.
When the fox couldn't reach the grapes, she called them sour. Likewise, if you don't hear something, neither does anyone else, and it's useless.
1. I'll start with your absolute hearing. Study what the term means, it has nothing to do with whether you know mp3 from a CD. You obviously didn't understand what it was and you're just parroting what you picked up somewhere.
2. Apple Music does not use 320 kbps bit rate, but only 256 kbps.
3. Just because you don't know the difference, doesn't mean that I and the people around me don't. I recognize it, and it's even better to listen to it from DVD-Audio, SACD or today's expanding Blu-ray (Audio). It is obvious that mp3 has no dynamics, resolution, transparency... This is due to the fact that you create approx. 650 MB of pasquil out of 100 MB on a CD. Or even worse from 4,5 GB DVD-Audio. But no one knows it :-D The same applies to image compression, if you didn't understand the analogy with the car.
4. You've hit the nail on the head with the acoustics, and it only proves that you're grinding and you don't know what to do. What you claim is definitely not true. It's the exact opposite ha ha ha. If the room has no furniture and is surrounded by the foam, the foam will swallow it all and all you will hear is a big poop.
6. B+W doesn't make any hifi systems for the home, Mr. Big Expert, so he won't listen to anything on it at home. They only do repro and that's only part of the whole chain.
And here's a little about the acoustics :-))
http://www.soning.cz/cs/pripadove-studie/akustika-poslechovych-mistnosti/
Citation:
Placing expensive equipment in an empty room can be included among frequent mistakes. But again, be careful about over-damping, especially at high frequencies (do not excessively use carpet and certain sprays or one type of acoustic material. Sometimes a suitable curtain and a reasonable amount of furniture are enough.
Which is the exact opposite of what you claimed here. Before you start trumpeting your impressions, do some research yourself. Bye :-)
Absolute hearing has absolutely nothing to do with what ranges a person hears and how he perceives the quality of the recording and mix (this can be trained).
I tried Apple Music for about a week and went back to Spotify. For example, with Spotify, when I play some radio, I always have a thumbs up and a thumbs down for the song... Thumbs down will skip the song and nothing like that will be played anymore. Thumbs up likes it, indicates my taste and also saves the song to my Liked from Radio playlist. With Apple Music, I have to click through the menu for this (star and hit small labels). In addition, the song is only liked, but I can't return to it in any way, it won't be saved anywhere... Except I can save the song again with about three clicks... Instead of one tap in Spotify, about 5 in Apple Music... And there are clouds of such things. It's not tight.
I am among them. I tried for about a week. After it made my music collection a mess without an album cover (just part of it) and it made me lose ratings for various songs, I went back to local music and discovering new music on Spotify Free.
It's much easier for me and 2000/- cheaper per year, for which I'd rather buy new running equipment every year :)
It will be interesting to watch the number of users after the trial period (after about 4 months), that will really say something.
Please, Tomasi, be a little more objective, Spotify has been around since 2006, but read the history! Apple launched a service in 100 countries and 10 million is a joke, I certainly can't be satisfied, but I got used to Jablickari that even if an iPhone cost a million and a Mac 3, you would write here that the price is adequate, everything is great and highlight the pluses... I go here advice, but a little objectivity won't hurt. Not every shit that Apple spews is beautiful and smelly. I guess
Agreed, the assessment is very biased and completely out of touch with reality. This is a flop.
On the one hand, the article says that comparing the success of Spotify with the success of Apple Music may not be very relevant and that considering the number of people who have iOS 8.4, it is not so much, and on the other hand, the article begins by saying that the "success" surprises copyright holders and others record company people. I admit, I'm not an expert and I don't know if so many listeners can be considered a success in the current conditions. At the same time, I do not think that such a thing directly follows from the article.
I'm not saying that you have to be an expert, of course I'm glad that these articles are here, and as I write, I'm an Apple fan and I come here often, but sometimes I'm amazed... I have the feeling that some editors here are literally fanatics. After all, you have to have a bit of objectivity, because you can't just praise it endlessly... Look at the innovations in recent years, where Siri, Apple TV have moved, the beginnings of sales in selected countries are still behind us, the iPod is almost completely written off, the iPad is on a similar path ( by the way, I'm extremely curious when the New Macbook costs 40, how much will the iPad Pro cost if that's what it's called), failed Apple music...and now how am I building a car? I'm not even talking about the watch, I'm sorry, but it's a mistake of the first class. Especially the ads... They don't even know what to highlight... Especially since every quarter is a record and they have the whole planet in cash... But where are they moving? I'm a fan and I use the products, but how about thinking about having an article, not only why Apple but also why not... I think it won't be so clear anymore!
That's a mistake, I apologize, but I'm writing from my iPhone on the way home ;) Sorry applecars
I understand that even on a website exclusively about Apple products, there should be no place for fanatical fandom. I don't use Apple Music myself, and I'm not too happy with the new look of the music app. But as I said, I just don't think the article implies any kind of blind celebration of Apple's achievements. When commenting on the available numbers, I took into account only the available information (that's why I mentioned that I'm not an expert - I don't know other statistics) and both their comparison with the statistics of the largest company in the industry and a certain degree of skepticism were expressed.
That's why I say that it might sometimes need a change... For example, what the fans would like on a new Mac, iPhone, etc., on the contrary, what bothers them... Or, for example, the editors' most frequently used apps on their devices, or print screens, and the like... Let it not be just praising Apple every day, then an application a week, an apple week, and here we go again... We just need to be healthy and objective, and give us a bit of space too, the fact that we are not editors does not mean that we know about Apple fart... But if you look at history, your colleague what he wrote about "Downloading or not downloading movies from iTunes", he seems to me like a Muslim when he talks about Allah... If the movie cost 1500 crowns, and there was no option for subtitles, and it was dubbed by a Pole, he would still write that it is great and the price is moderate... We consider Apple as something that sometimes makes us happy in life, but not something that is an idol for us. Let's try healthier
Success? With hundreds of millions of iOS devices, I'd call it more of a disappointment. Now it's free, so if 10% remains, it will be mega users. So I expected much more.
I also have a problem with Apple music. In iTunes, when I click on a song and want to turn it into a radio or a radio from an artist, nothing happens. The current song is turned off and the new radio is not loaded. Does it hurt anyone? It works for me in iTunes on both Mac and Windows. I don't have a problem with iOS either, and the radio starts normally according to the song.
there is obviously a bug, I have the same problem
I'm really showing off with Apple music.. Then on the ipad mini 2 it crashes, it crashes, it's chaotic and difficult to control on all devices. I really don't know what they are doing there. Spotify doesn't have to worry just yet. Music has its own home..
It is then strange and chaotic, Spotify has years behind it and especially the iOS application is ergonomically designed. On the other hand, Apple Music has slightly better recording quality. I still pay for Spotify and I still don't know how to deal with it, I assume that Apple will fix/improve the controls in time. If it weren't for the better sound quality, I wouldn't consider it over Apple Music, some "bonuses" like connect (obviously it's "forced" there and SoundCloud has no chance to threaten it) or Beats 1, which are unlistenable to me, they can safely keep.
I also turned on Apple music, canceled it after two days and reinstalled the Mac on Maverick, and the update to 8.4 lights up on my phone, which I won't install until the three months of subscription are over. It's kind of like iTunes Match, I tried it too and after the subscription ends after the first year I don't pay anymore. And I use the TuneIn radio app to discover music
there are a lot of things I like about Apple, but iTunes Match and the new Music definitely aren't it. I must be doing something wrong. I feel like it just made a mess and I don't have time to play with it and tweak the settings. For now, I can probably get by with 25 Gb of my own music that I have on my computer and other devices.
I am also a proud user of apple music. Music has a home, for me a more revolutionary and important thing than the arrival of the iPad (a mistake). Tim is still famous, what did Jobs do? He had some music service whose name I can't even remember. I have my fingers crossed for Tim, the company is diversifying and he is a credit to the entire company. Thanks to such people, the world is more beautiful and colorful. A big juggernaut is gradually being turned into a company that is closer to people. And for this I am grateful, this is what it should be about.
anton, how about you tone down the irony a bit ;)
I'm sorry if you call this irony. what kind of world do you want? intolerant and full of hate? such people came here to protest against immigrants.
it's clear, you're definitely a troll :)
A troll is rather someone who goes to insult Apple products and its philosophy on an Apple fan page. I also don't go to Samsung's website to comment on its products, even though I don't like anything about them.
I like how everyone here willingly tests it and already proudly proclaims how they will cancel it after three months... "Just as long as it's backfired, we'll take all ten, right. Yeah, you want to pay for it? Well, no…”
Personally, I have it a little differently. Even after three months, I will quite willingly pay €9 for family sharing. I've been buying albums about 3 a month so far, so it's more convenient for me now. Assuming, of course, that they don't shut down the service as unprofitable in a few years.
I also think that the controls that people complain about quite a bit will become simpler and clearer over time. At least that's usually the case...
Thumbs up for me.
