Maybe it's incredibly careless, maybe it's intentional, and maybe Apple is just kidding us, but one thing's for sure - during the WWDC 2012 keynote, two photos of an iPhone that looks unlike any other model we've seen so far appeared right in the presentation see. Unless this really is a malicious joke by Apple on the current rumors about the shape of the iPhone, we should really expect an extended version.
Our reader drew our attention to the unusual size of the phone in the recording of the keynote Martin Doubek. Both photos can be seen during Scott Forstall's presentation when he was introducing the new features in iOS 6. The first of the photos appears at the 79 minute mark where he is introducing one of Siri's features, Eyes Free. In the photo in the car, a white iPhone is embedded in the holder, which is significantly longer than all existing models.
The second photo is in the slide at the 87th minute. Here, too, the iPhone looks slightly longer when held in the hand than previous generations, although it's hard to tell from the angle.
We enlarged the image from the car and added the iPhone 4. When viewing the shot in more detail, it seems that the phone is slightly rotated, but proportionally it appears to be quite significantly elongated. The depth of the phone, on the other hand, is lower than it should be at the given viewing angle. The display also gives the impression of a larger area and stretching to the edges.
Compared to other rumors that have appeared regarding an elongated iPhone with an aspect ratio of 16:9, this one is the most credible, because it comes directly from Apple. On the other hand, you still have to be careful, Apple sometimes likes to make fun of current rumors. For example, at the end of last year you made fun of bloggers looking for references to future devices in iOS betas and included a mention of products such as the iPad 8 or Apple TV 9. On the invitation to the unveiling of the new iPad, the change retouched the Home button on the photo with the tablet, which led to speculation that we would be saying goodbye to the main hardware button.
Update at 10.30 a.m.:
Several opinions appeared in the discussion that the image is width-distorted (narrowed) and I do not take this fact into account. Therefore, we simulated the correct ratio, yet the new model seems narrower.
In my opinion, it's just a poorly stretched image on the canvas, a bad aspect ratio. Notice the squishy control buttons and dials on the dash itself, it's all stretched out vertically on that canvas…. I'm sorry, the sensation is not happening...
yeah i would say so too. In addition: 1. I don't have to photograph the whole thing so that they get into a real car, arrange an iPhone that I really intend to sell, etc. Apple certainly has a lot of different prototypes and mockups. they could just take a board, a model and a vulture. regardless of the fact that it has unnatural lights, shadows, etc., it is photoshopped or completely artificially composed... and the picture was spread by someone who stupidly made the presentation. there are a lot of possibilities, and the least likely is that they will show the driv product before presenting it ceremonially
and watch out, Apple will intervene in the development of audio equipment for cars. It replaces the rationally circular control elements with elongated oval ones :-) They can also be seen in the photo of the elongated iPhone. So let's try to edit the photo so that the controls are round and maybe even the iPhone will shrink to its original size :-)
that's exactly how it is. I don't understand what anyone is saying here. that article is pretty stupid and doesn't belong on Apple.
Think twice, write once... you won't become Lightning!
the purpose of such articles is not the content of the article but the discussion under the article. this happens, as I have observed, quite often, and I don't mean only here. What to pay, the wolf was seen, the ad was displayed in the appropriate amount (but I have adblock) and the goat remained intact :)
However, it would be funny if the new phone looked completely different and people complained to Apple that the Siri and Eyes Free functions do not work for them on the phone in the picture.
The image is distorted if the projector and photo/video are projected in line. This means that the photo of the iPhone in the car is correct compared to the original.
Please measure the height and width of the Siri logo when Scott Forstall is lined up next to it. ;O)
And it doesn't matter what is where in the picture?
Everyone is the same (according to them, iPhone users are satisfied with the iPhone and as soon as a new one is released, 90% of them must have it). Children in America understand, but managers in CZ? Sheep in CZ will buy a new piece, even if it is the biggest new stupidity... 3D maps (America), Voice control Navigation (but not in Czech), etc...
I think Apple does this on purpose.
It keeps users on their toes.
And they jump on it and as soon as they bought a new new new ixxx (xxx=whatever) they look forward to the new one and speculate a lot about it and have a topic of conversation with their friends. :-) Mirek
In the last picture, I would say that it is narrower because it is not taken from a direct angle, but the iPhone is slightly tilted. I'm not sure but it seems that way to me.
and it's not a coincidence..mysterious iCar???
:oD ... definitely not, this is a BMW (see steering wheel)
And isn't it a New BMW?
:D !!! so it's worth thinking about!!! :from
and what about Jan Tleskač
:D !!! so it's worth thinking about!!! :from

I think that mainly in the second photo it is more about the thickness of the phone, I wouldn't even say that it is wider or narrower or maybe longer, but it certainly looks thinner.
Do you mean thinner, i.e. body fat? So less than the current 9,3mm? I would agree with that it looks like there. But again Scott Forstall is on the record, so the picture is distorted!
JJ I mean a thickness lower than 9.3mm, that would be the best in my opinion, but the current look is smaller thickness.
The appearance is really great. In the hand, the iPhone feels like a real piece of quality thanks to the material used. It simply cannot be compared to plastic.
Although I wouldn't be against increasing the display to somewhere around 4", I can't imagine changing the aspect ratio.
Let us be surprised. ;O)

After all, it stinks of Photoshop for 100 years :-)))
There is no need to change the size of the iPhone. It is a patented size that will never change. Unless the human race somehow evolves :)

really shitty article, Unsubsrcribe from RSS. The horror..
Rather, Apple is making us have a good day again ;-))
He didn't show, it's 4S. Look at the presentation of the macbook air, the one on the right has a quadrilateral display... Have the image deformed when projected onto the image and the presenter at the same time...
Every normal person doesn't even stop to think about it and it's clear to him that you shouldn't do such a thing in carefully prepared presentations. No one has deleted the button on the iPad, the angle can be taken just fine, it just depends on what kind of glasses you have.
If the iPhone 5 is to have a different dock connector (it's a waste of all the already manufactured accessories and compatible devices that we all already have at home - we'll probably throw it away when we buy a new model), then the photo still shows the original size. Or will the new iPhone still have the 30-pin one?
