Currently, the most used and quite possibly the most popular translator is Google Translate, which works not only in the form of a web application, but also on various mobile platforms. However, Apple decided some time ago to dive into the same waters and come up with its own solution in the form of the Translate application. Although he originally had huge ambitions with the application, practically up until now we have not seen any significant changes.

Apple introduced the Translate app in June 2020 as one of the features of the iOS 14 system. Although it was already a little behind the competition, the Cupertino giant was able to minimize this fact with interesting features and an important promise to gradually add new and new languages for coverage most of the world. Currently, the tool can be used to translate between eleven world languages, which of course include English (both English and American), Arabic, Chinese, German, Spanish and others. But will we ever see Czech?

Apple Translate is not a bad app at all

On the other hand, we must not forget to mention that the whole solution in the form of the Translate application is not bad at all, on the contrary. The tool offers a number of interesting functions, from which you can use, for example, the conversation mode, with the help of which it is practically no problem to start a conversation with a person who speaks a completely different language. At the same time, the app also has the upper hand in terms of device security. Since all translations take place directly within the device and do not go out to the Internet, the privacy of the users themselves is also protected.

On the other hand, the app is limited to only some users. For example, Czech and Slovak apple lovers simply won't enjoy it much, because it lacks support for our languages. Therefore, we can be satisfied at most with the fact that we will use a language other than our home language for the translation. So if someone knows enough English, they can use this native application for translations into other languages. However, we ourselves have to admit that in such a case it is not a completely ideal solution and it is therefore much easier to use, for example, the competing Google Translate.

When will Apple add support for additional languages?

Unfortunately, no one knows the answer to the question of when Apple will add support for other languages, or what they will actually be. Given how the Cupertino giant first talked about its solution, it is rather strange that we have not yet received a similar extension and we still have to settle for almost the original form of the application. Would you like to see a noticeable improvement to the apple translator, or do you rely on Google's solution and don't need to change it?
