For many years now, Apple TV has been waiting for its next generation, which would bring much-needed and at the same time expected changes for the miniature set-top box, which Apple once referred to only as a "hobby". Until now, it looked like we would see it at next week's WWDC developer conference, but the Californian company is said to have changed plans in the end.

"Up until mid-May, Apple had planned to introduce the new Apple TV at a keynote at WWDC (…), but those plans have been delayed in part because the product is not yet sufficiently ready," he wrote citing two sources inside Apple Brian Chen pro The New York Times.

Apple has understandably refused to comment on this speculation, but it seems that even in June we will not see the new Apple TV, which was supposed to arrive with support for third-party applications, the Siri assistant or a new controller.

Apple executives have decided to postpone the introduction of the fourth generation of the Apple set-top box, because it is not yet ready. The problem is primarily the content. Apple wanted to offer a new Internet streaming service, on which it would offer users smaller packages of interesting TV stations at lower prices, but so far it has not been able to arrange everything.

Content providers are said to be unable to agree on prices, rights and technological solutions with Apple. So it will probably be crucial how these negotiations proceed, but the new Apple TV will probably not arrive until after the holidays, unless Tim Cook announces an unconventional keynote during the summer.

Report The New York Times however, she otherwise confirmed that, with the exception of Apple TV, we will really see it on Monday improvements in iOS and OS X, which should mainly concern stability, a new music streaming service, as well as smarter apps for the Watch.
