Recently, rather strange speculations have been circulating among Apple fans mentioning the development of an even larger iPad. Apparently, Apple is working on a brand new apple tablet, which should come with a rather fundamental "gadget". It is said to be the iPad with the largest screen ever. The current front rank is held by the iPad Pro with a 12,9″ display, which is quite large in itself. The latest information has now been shared by the well-known portal The Information, citing a well-informed person who knows the details of the entire development.

According to this speculation, the Cupertino giant is to come up with a slow to unimaginable 16″ iPad already next year. Whether we will actually see the arrival of this particular model is, of course, unclear for now. On the other hand, it is quite likely that Apple is actually working on a larger tablet. Reporter Mark Gurman from Bloomberg and analyst focusing on displays, Ross Young, came up with similar speculations. But according to Young, it should be a 14,1″ model with a mini-LED display. But there is a rather fundamental catch. The range of iPads is already quite confusing and the question is whether there is room for such a model.

Chaos in the iPad menu

A number of Apple users complain that the offer of Apple tablets is quite chaotic after the introduction of the 10th generation iPad. Of course, we can immediately identify the best and truly professional model. It is simply the iPad Pro, which is also the most expensive of them all. But as we mentioned above, the real chaos is only brought by the newly introduced 10th generation iPad. The latter received the long-awaited redesign and transition to USB-C, but with that came a significantly higher price tag. This is clearly evidenced by the fact that the previous generation was almost a third cheaper, or less than 5 thousand crowns.

Therefore, Apple fans are now speculating whether to invest in a new iPad, or rather not to pay for the iPad Air, which is even equipped with an M1 chip and offers a number of other options. On the other hand, some Apple users prefer the older generation iPad Air 4th generation (2020) at this time. Some fans are therefore worried that with the arrival of a larger iPad, the menu would be even more chaotic. But in reality, the main problem may be somewhere else.

Does a bigger iPad make sense?

The most important question, of course, is whether a larger iPad even makes sense. For the time being, Apple users have at their disposal the 12,9″ iPad Pro, which in many cases is the clear choice for all kinds of creatives who are involved in, for example, graphics, photos or video and need as much space as possible to work. In this regard, it clearly makes sense that the more space, the better. At least that's how it looks at first glance.

However, Apple has been facing considerable criticism directed at the iPadOS system for a long time. Although the performance of iPads is growing exponentially, the same cannot be said about its possibilities, unfortunately, which is due to the limitations arising from the mobile system. It's no wonder, then, that users are clamoring for a change and want to noticeably improve multitasking on iPads. A glimmer of hope now comes with iPadOS 16.1. The latest version received the Stage Manager function, which is supposed to facilitate multitasking and allow users to work with several applications at the same time, even when connecting an external display. However, some professional applications and other options are still missing. Would you welcome the arrival of a larger iPad with up to a 16″ screen, or do you think the product will not make sense without major changes within iPadOS?
