Another Apple acquisition has come to light. This time it is Novauris. The acquisition is not quite up to date, Apple made it a year ago, however, this fact was discovered by the server TechCrunch until now. The company was developing technology that was able to handle multiple voice commands at the same time, recognize whole phrases and analyze the structure of voices for better speech recognition. One of the company's main products is NovaSystem, a server system for distributed speech recognition. After all, Siri also works on a similar principle.

According to Novauris, NovaSystem does not recognize speech at the level of words or their sequence, but instead identifies entire phrases by comparing them against a huge database of possible matches. Thus, it is possible to compose information from arbitrarily long sentences to achieve the most accurate result, at least according to the company's website. The founder of Novauris is a fairly well-known figure in this field, this researcher previously worked for Dragon Systems (the application is known DragonDictate), which he currently owns Nuance. The same Nuance that powers speech recognition for Siri.

After all, Apple tried to buy Nuance before, but failed. However, Novauris has extensive experience not only in the field of server solutions, but also built-in solutions, i.e. without the need to connect to servers. This could help Apple further develop Siri, which Novauris' team will be working on. The company has already cooperated with, for example, competitor Samsung, but also corporations such as Verizon Wireless, Panasonic, Alpine or BMW.

Apple indirectly confirmed the acquisition with its classic response through its spokesperson: "Apple buys small technology companies from time to time, but we generally don't discuss our intentions and plans."
