Apple has agreed to another acquisition of an artificial intelligence and machine learning startup. For approximately 200 million dollars (about 4,8 billion crowns), he bought the company Turi, which offers developers tools for better information stabilization of applications. The server informed about it GeekWire, immediately confirmed by Apple itself.

Turi is not the only startup with such a focus that the Cupertino giant has under its wings. They include, for example VolcalIQ, Perceptio whether emotient. All these companies have one thing in common – specialization in machine learning and artificial intelligence. The technologies that the mentioned startups possess always have the potential to deepen Apple's focus in this sphere. Turi is no exception.

The company from Seattle, USA, primarily provides mobile application developers with options that allow them to build their applications better and prepare them for the onslaught of a huge number of users (so-called "scaling"). Additionally, their products (Turi Machine Learning Platform, GraphLab Create, and more) help small organizations run better. For example, they deal with fraud detection and user sentiment analysis and segmentation.

Apple commented on the acquisition in its traditional way that "from time to time we buy small technology companies, but we generally do not discuss our intentions". It can be speculated, however, that the Turi technology will be used for the further development of the voice assistant Siri, but also quite possibly in completely new projects. Investments in virtual reality and related areas are obviously massive at Apple. This, after all, with the latest financial results confirmed and Apple CEO Tim Cook.
