Michal Ždanský Almost four months after release first beta version iOS 7.1 and three weeks after the last beta of the new version of the mobile operating system, iOS 7.1 is officially released to the general public. Five builds were needed by the company to release the final version, while the last sixth beta version did not bear the Golden Master label, so in the official version it is against beta 5 some news. The most interesting of them is CarPlay support, which will allow you to connect your phone to a supported car and bring the iOS environment to the dashboard.
C Apple already presented last week and announced cooperation with some car companies, for example Volvo, Ford or Ferrari. This feature will allow a special version of iOS to be transferred to the car's built-in touch screen when an iOS device is connected. In a way, this is the equivalent of AirPlay for motor vehicles. In this environment, you can control some functions and applications, for example music (including third-party audio applications), maps, messages, or perform commands via Siri. At the same time, Siri's capabilities do not end within iOS, but it can also control functions that are normally only available via physical buttons in the car.

Some languages have also received an updated version of voice synthesis, which sounds much more natural than the first version of the digital assistant. What's more, iOS 7.1 will offer an alternative to launch Siri. You can now hold the Home button while you're talking and release to mark the end of a voice command. Application Phone it already has changed buttons for starting a call, hanging up a call and a slider for picking up the phone by dragging it from earlier beta versions. The application has also seen minor changes Kalendář, where the ability to display events from the monthly overview has finally returned. In addition, the calendar also included national holidays.
Proposal Disclosure v Settings has several new options. Bold font can be set on the keyboard in the calculator as well as in other places in the system, movement restrictions now also apply to multitasking, Weather and News. The colors in the system can be darkened, the white point can be muted, and everyone who lacks buttons with a border can turn on shadow outlines.
Another series of minor modifications can be found in the system. For example, the visual design of the activated SHIFT and CAPS LOCK buttons on the keyboard has changed, as well as the BACKSPACE key has a different color scheme. The camera can turn on HDR automatically. Several new releases can also be found in iTunes Radio, but this is still unavailable for the Czech Republic. There is also an option to turn off the parallax background effect from the wallpaper menu.
However, the update is mainly one big bug fix. The performance of the iPhone 4, which was tragic on iOS 7, should improve significantly, and iPads should also see a minor increase in speed. With iOS 7.1, random device reboots, system freezes, and other ailments that frustrated users have also been greatly reduced. You can update either by connecting your device to iTunes or OTA from the menu Settings > General > Software Update. By the way, Apple promotes iOS 7.1 even on your site.
There was never beta 6... there was only beta 5 and now the Final version :-)

It's an opinion, I'm not a supporter of either platform, but they could have improved a bit with iOS. Like sorry, but maybe the yellow text on the buttons? How many times things in iOS7 are really underwhelming and I just hope it gets better with time…
I switched from iOS to Android just because I just can't deal with the phone and didn't want to buy a new one for 17k. However, I love Macs and I'm a little afraid that they will "fertilize" OS X in the same way.

I switched from Android to iOS last month, so I dare to disagree. As an ex-owner of a Nexus 7 and two Galaxy S series, I have experience with both touchwiz and the latest pure Android. In terms of design, android is not equal to iOS 7 even in the wildest dreams, if I can judge as a graphic design student, and I will probably not even talk about the speed and stability of the system. Google is focused on a million things other than keeping android running smoothly and in an effort to preserve my sanity I gave up hope and switched to ios. Even without this update, my iPad was the most stable device I've ever owned.
I'm not even mistaken, my friend has an android and it's a big tragedy, she manages basic things like making calls with difficulty and she has a couple of apps, I assume it's the embarrassing add-on from Sony. Anyway, now Apple has understood, finally even the iPhone 4 is pleasant to use again, and on the iPad 3 it was great before the update and now it's a rocket :)
As for the increase in speed, it's great on my iPad 3. Before the update it was horrible at times. It looks much better now :)
That's all fine and I thank them for that, but if they would add on/off mobile data to the bottom roller (or whatever you want to call it), still no :-(
The thickness of the keys on the 4th generation ipad is absolutely tragic and I couldn't find if it could be reversed somewhere.. the thin letters were more elegant.. this is perhaps the first time that something immediately hit me in the eye after the update
even on the iPhone 5, you can recognize it on the first try. I'd also rather have it thinner than it was.

You only have the default calendar option there if you have two or more calendars in the system. If there is only one (as you have), then it is automatically the default

My experience is that when a photo is assigned in the iPhone, it does a small preview. When syncing with Gmail, where photos are added, it is in fullscreen.

I just solved it yesterday: if the picture is inserted automatically via social sites, for example Facebook, LinkedIn, then the picture is tiny....if it is inserted manually, everything works as it should.

When I updated the iP4 to iOS7.1, I have the bottom bar where the phone, mail and music icons are still gray even if I set any wallpaper. On iOS 7, the color always changed with the background color for me, and when I have multiple apps in a created folder that is also gray, the edges of that folder jump when I open it. Has anyone encountered this? I updated via OTA. Thanks for any info.

In the graphic environment, I came across one rather unpleasant novelty, which mainly concerns the background, namely the automatic adjustment of the background brightness in the upper third of the screen. I haven't revealed how exactly it works, but it behaves quite strangely. If you use a wallpaper with a part of the light background in the upper part of the screen, the system will darken the upper third as much as it deems appropriate, and if the area is already too close to white, it will change the status and time indicators to black. The problem arises when you set a wallpaper that has a dark top border on the status bar and the rest of the top is shades of white. The system will darken your background so that you prefer to replace it with another one. This pretty much limits the use of your favorite backgrounds. For me, this is a significant minus compared to the previous version of the system, where this problem did not exist. Hopefully this bug will be fixed soon.

If you have the Google app installed, turn off its updates and access to GPS in the settings. At least it helped me.
Well, there's nothing better than increasing the display (from iPhone 4 to 5 and even bigger 6) and putting a photo of the caller next to the wheel, icon. That's what I call progress. Now I have to crawl like a donkey to the phone to at least see who's calling :(

I wonder why it keeps turning off with the HDR camera? With version 6.0 it was all the time, only when you used it while shooting a video, you had to turn it on. Since 7.0 it keeps shutting down.

iOS 7.1 is a really neat system, this is what iOS 7.0 should have looked like - there is no mention of small things like the red time line in the notification center, only a short vibration during an open conversation in messages and the removal of the poor display of pdf files in ibooks, when they only sharpened after zooming in - this the bug has been there for a very long time and has been limiting my reading a lot. But added the missing hook on the iPad keyboard when typing in the address bar in Safari - just a minor thing :-(.
I don't want to shout it out, but here, the discharge problem was really related to CarPlay.

Just blow dry it (before it says the warning) then put it in a bag (wrap it in it to be safe) and put it in the freezer for 5-10 minutes. It didn't work for me either and this helped me (even though I thought it was bullshit so I tried it and the WIFI suddenly went off and after about 14 days it does)
