Analytical company Kantar Worldpanel has published its statistics on how smartphones were sold in major global markets at the end of 2017. The company is analyzing data for November, as December has not yet been processed. However, it seems that Apple recovered towards the end of the year (expectedly) and sales of iPhones increased considerably. The company managed to improve its position even in markets where it did not do so well before.

In the United States, all three innovations were in the first three positions of the best-selling smartphones. Perhaps somewhat paradoxically, the iPhone 8 ranks first, followed by the iPhone X and the iPhone 8 Plus in third place. The biggest competitor in the form of the Samsung Galaxy S8 is in eighth place. But it wasn't just the United States where the new iPhones did well.

The iPhone X did well in China as well. This success here is more significant in that users who have switched from the competing Android platform and phones from Huawei, Xiaomi, Samsung and others have largely contributed to it. The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus have also done well in China. iPhone X sales accounted for 6% of all smartphone sales.

In Great Britain, the iPhone once again took first place in the list of best-selling smartphones, where it replaced the already mentioned Samsung Galaxy S8. Of all smartphones sold in the UK, iPhone X sales accounted for 14,4%. The new flagship also performed very well in Japan, where it also finished in first place. In this market, the iPhone X took a bite of 18,2% of the pie of all smartphones sold in the month of November. In the rest of Europe, Apple did not do so well, and on average, sales of iOS phones here fell by 0,6%.
