On the occasion of today's Spring Loaded Keynote, Apple introduced the new Apple TV 4K in addition to the AirTag location tag. After a long wait, we finally got a new version that boasts a drastic increase in performance, thanks to the Apple A12 Bionic chip. Together with this change, the image quality will be significantly improved. This piece of apple can now cope with HDR Dolby Vision support, and even the maximum supported refresh rate is increased to 120 Hz, which will be appreciated especially by gamers.
Because of this, of course, the port will also change to HDMI 2.1. A huge surprise is the new iPhone image color calibration feature. At the unveiling itself, Apple presented the power of this news through an image in which we could see significantly better imaging capabilities. You can see how this function works in the gallery below.
The new Siri Remote
In addition, the new Apple TV comes with a completely new, redesigned Siri Remote. For a long time, the previous model was heavily criticized for its impracticality. So Apple has finally heard the call of apple lovers and presented an amazing controller at first glance. It boasts a body made of recyclable aluminum, which replaced the original glass, and an improved touch surface with gesture support. In addition, as the name itself suggests, the voice assistant Siri was not to be forgotten. The button for its activation is now located on the side of the product.
Price and availability
The new Apple TV 4K will be available with 32GB and 64GB of storage, with prices starting at $179 and $199, respectively. Pre-orders for this new product will then start on April 30, while the first lucky ones will receive the product around the middle of next month.

Just like that, Netflix will be cut again...
Hey, I'm not alone? :D … I thought it was my TV… :D
Nn, it's a shop :-/
I'm doing something wrong :-) I use Netflix, ATV and HBO app and others every day and I've never noticed anything. On the other hand, I had various problems with other similar boxes...
I also don't know what the two above are talking about. Both Netlix and HBO Go run just fine on the current aTV 4K. I use it almost daily.
So Youtube annoys me, it crashes many times after starting and cannot be controlled, the app has to be killed and started again.
Buy some glasses. The NF app on ATV is terrible, the absolute worst stream quality. ATV+ and HBO do not suffer from this, I don't know what you are dragging into the discussion.
Where did you get 120 Hz?
It is clear that with the HDMI 2.1 port this option is offered, or there should be some 8K60, 4K120, 4K60, etc..., but on the ofiko website in the specifications, apple states a maximum video output of 4K60 and hdmi2.1 only gives a higher stream. There is no mention of 4K120, so the games will probably not be supported. So even in that presentation it was not mentioned at all that the aTV has hdmi 2.1. only better HDR and DolbyVision. (by the way, the next HDR version is HDR10+ and the next DV port is nothing), so the "better" thing is "just" throughput.
Quite a disappointment, so I was expecting a bigger upgrade. it makes no sense to switch from the current 4K :/
Will Siri work in the Czech Republic? It works on mobile, but not on remote. I do not understand.
