Even today, we have prepared a traditional IT summary for our loyal readers, in which we focus on the most interesting and hottest news that took place in the world of information technology over the past day. Today we look at the continuation of the Apple vs. Epic Games, we will also inform you about the successes of the recently released Microsoft Flight Simulator game and in the latest news we will inform you about the termination of the Ever service, which was used to store photos and videos. Let's get straight to the point.

The continuation of the Apple vs. Epic Games

In yesterday's IT roundup, we you informed about how the dispute between the game studio Epic Games and Apple is gradually developing. Just so you are aware, a few days ago, the Epic Games studio grossly violated the rules of the Apple App Store within the iOS version of Fortnite. After this violation of the rules, Apple decided to withdraw Fortnite from the App Store, after which Epic Games sued the apple company for abuse of its monopoly position. Both companies have different views on this situation, of course, and the world has more or less split into two groups - the first group agrees with Epic Games and the second with Apple. In addition, we informed you that a trial will take place today, in which we will learn more information about the continuation of the whole dispute. In the past, Apple even threatened the studio Epic Games with the cancellation of the developer profile, because of which Epic Games would not even be able to continue developing its Unreal Engine, on which countless games and developers depend.

How will it be with Unreal Engine?

Today, a court proceeding took place, in which several verdicts were handed down. The judge focused on why Epic Games should keep Fortnite in the App Store unchanged, i.e. with an unauthorized payment method, and Apple's lawyers were then asked why Fortnite should not remain in the App Store. Lawyers for both companies, of course, defended their claims. However, then there was talk of canceling Epic Games' developer profile in the App Store, which would damage several different games. Epic Games literally stated that this move would completely destroy the Unreal Engine, in addition, the studio also let it be known that developers using the engine are already complaining. Apple responded to this by saying that the solution is simple - it is enough for Epic Games to simply meet Apple's requirements. After that, there would be no cancellation of the developer profile and "everyone would be happy". In any case, the ruling was finally made that Apple can cancel the developer profile of the Epic Games studio, but must not interfere with the development of the Unreal Engine. So regardless of Fortnite's return to the App Store, other developers and games should remain unaffected.

Will we ever see Fortnite on the App Store again?

If this article is being read by avid Fortnite players on iPhones or iPads who are waiting for this whole dispute to be resolved, we have pretty good news for them too. Of course, the court proceedings also discussed how the Fortnite game will actually be in the App Store. It turned out that Apple is ready to welcome Fortnite back into the App Store, but again if the conditions are met, i.e. to remove the mentioned unauthorized payment method from the game: "Our main priority is to give App Store users the best experience and, above all, an environment they can trust. By these users, we also mean Fortnite players who are definitely looking forward to the next season of the game. We agree with the judge's opinion and share his opinion - the easiest path for the Epic Games studio will be to simply accept the terms of the App Store and not violate them. If Epic Games follows the steps suggested by the judge, we are willing to welcome Fortnite back into the App Store with open arms." Apple said in court. So it looks like the decision is currently solely up to Epic Games studio. The judge further confirmed that this whole situation was caused by the Epic Games studio.

The Ever service, on which users can save photos and videos, will be discontinued after seven years of operation, namely on August 31.
