In this regular column, every day we look at the most interesting news that revolves around the California company Apple. Here we focus exclusively on the main events and selected (interesting) speculations. So if you are interested in current events and want to be informed about the apple world, definitely spend a few minutes on the following paragraphs.

iPhone 13 boasts larger batteries

Apple phones boast great performance that goes hand in hand with a premium design. But where the iPhone lags behind the competition is the battery life, which has been criticized by many users for a long time. We saw some improvement in 2019 with the introduction of the iPhone 11, which managed to significantly improve durability at the expense of thickness. Last year's iPhones 12, on the other hand, are equipped with weaker batteries, the capacity of which is 231 mAh to 295 mAh smaller. Nevertheless, the endurance remained the same thanks to the newer chip. But this year's generation should finally bring the desired change. This has now been pointed out by renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, according to whom Apple phones will see improvements in the field of durability.

iPhone 13 battery

Upcoming iPhones should offer larger capacity batteries than last year's models, thanks to a few minor tweaks. Apple is going to shrink a number of various components, thereby providing more space for a possible battery without having to increase the size of the phones. Among the most significant changes should be the integration of the SIM card slot directly on the motherboard and the reduction of components within the TrueDepth camera. Either way, these changes will make the iPhone 13 a little heavier, according to Kuo. At the same time, endurance could be improved thanks to Apple's new A15 Bionic chip.

iPhone 13 could bring Touch ID under the display

In 2017, Apple showed us the iPhone X, which was the first to bring the fascinating Face ID technology - that is, unlocking the phone and applications using a 3D facial scan. As of now, only one phone with the older Touch ID has been released, and of course we are talking about the iPhone SE (2020), which uses the body of the famous "eight." Currently, new information came from analyst Andrew Gardiner from Barclays, according to which we can expect that the iPhone 13 will bring a fingerprint reader built under the display, which will perfectly complement the currently used Face ID.

iPhone concept with Touch ID under the display:

The analyst continues to maintain that this year's generation will continue to boast a smaller top notch, which has long been hugely criticized for its size, and the LiDAR scanner will remain only on the Pro models. After all, these are the same predictions that Ming-Chi Kuo came up with earlier this month. Apple should generally try to reduce the aforementioned cutout, while we should expect a real change only next year, when the new technology will be adapted. The arrival of an iPhone with Touch ID and Face ID at the same time has been talked about for a long time. Kuo himself mentioned in August 2019 that we will see exactly such a model in 2019. But his most recent predictions do not even indicate any such change.

Portals such as Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal also talked about the fingerprint reader, which would be built under the iPhone display. According to their information, the Cupertino company is at least playing with this change, but it is still not certain when we will see its implementation. We will have to wait for more detailed information. Would you welcome the return of the iconic Touch ID?
