While last week Intel pointed out the shortcomings of Macs with the M1 chip, now it would like to establish cooperation and produce them for Apple. Another interesting piece of news that surfaced today is a reference to the expected iPad Pro. It specifically appeared in the fifth beta version of the iOS 14.5 system.

Intel wants to become a manufacturer of Apple Silicon chips, but it is still campaigning against them

Last week, we informed you twice about Intel's new campaign, in which it points out the shortcomings of Macs with the M1 chip, while, on the other hand, it puts classic laptops in a much more advantageous position. For Windows computers, it highlights significantly better accessory connectivity, a touchscreen, the ability to have a so-called 2-in-1 device, and better gaming. Iconic actor Justin Long even appeared for Apple in an Intel commercial. You may remember him from the I'm a Mac spots, in which he played the role of Mac.

So at first glance, it is obvious that Intel does not like the transition to Apple Silicon so much, because it replaced their solution. But the whole situation has now been quite noticeably changed by the words of the executive director of Intel, Pat Gelsinger, who shared with the world the details regarding the future of the entire company. Apart from the new production factories, he also mentioned that Intel wants to become a manufacturer of other chips from other manufacturers. Gelsinger specifically said that he sees Apple as a potential customer that he would like to take under his wing. Until now, the Cupertino giant has relied exclusively on TSMC for its chips. This is precisely why cooperation with Intel would actually make much more sense, as the Californian company would thus manage to diversify its supply chain and gain a better position.

Samsung's reaction to the removal of the charger from the packaging of the iPhone 12. It subsequently decided to do the same with the Galaxy S21

Moreover, such a situation is not even unique. For example, we can cite Samsung, which is probably Apple's biggest competitor in the smartphone field. Although this South Korean company has several times in the past put its advertising directly against the iPhone, there are still relatively strong ties between the two giants. Samsung is an extremely important link in the Apple supply chain when, for example, it takes care of the supply of displays for our popular iPhones.

References in the latest betas

Apple is constantly working on its operating systems, and we can see any changes through developer and public beta versions. The fifth beta versions of iOS/iPadOS/tvOS 14.5, watchOS 7.4 and macOS 11.3 Big Sur are currently available for testing by developers. The developers found a very interesting reference in these betas, which will especially please iPad Pro lovers.

Great concept iPad mini Pro. Would you welcome such a product?

There has been talk for a long time about the upcoming iPad Pro, which should offer a display with Mini-LED technology. But it remains a big unknown when we will actually see such a product. Initial leaks mentioned a March Keynote during which the presentation would take place. But it turned out that the conference probably won't take place before April, so we'll still have to wait. However, 9to5Mac and MacRumors were able to find in the fifth beta of iOS 14.5 a reference to a graphics card from a chip that Apple dubs “13G,” which should refer to the A14X Bionic.
