In this regular column, every day we look at the most interesting news that revolves around the California company Apple. Here we focus exclusively on the main events and selected (interesting) speculations. So if you are interested in current events and want to be informed about the apple world, definitely spend a few minutes on the following paragraphs.

Apple Watch saved another human life

Apple Watch was introduced for the first time as a smart watch that can work with notifications and make our lives much easier. During the last generations, however, Apple has been focusing more and more on the health of its users, which is evidenced by the variety of sensors and functions that Apple watches have. We definitely have to mention the sensor for heart rate measurement, the EKG sensor for identifying the heart rhythm and possible atrial fibrillation, the sensor for measuring oxygen saturation in the blood, fall detection, irregular rhythm detection and the like. In addition, we have been able to read several times about the fact that it was these "ordinary" watches from the workshop of the Cupertino company that literally saved human life.

February is also known as Heart Month in the United States (American Heart Month). Of course, this did not escape even Apple, who shared another life-saving story in its Newsroom today, for which the Apple Watch is responsible. Fifty-nine-year-old American Bob March was extremely lucky to receive his first Apple Watch from his wife on the occasion of their anniversary. In addition, Bob is a former athlete and has even participated in half-marathons several times in his life. As soon as he put the watch on for the first time, he explored its functions until he stopped at the app Heart beat. But it reported 127 beats per minute, although he was only sitting still. He even went for a run later that day when he noticed his heart rate slowly drop and then shoot back up again.

Bob continued to encounter such data for several days until his wife ordered him to a routine doctor's appointment. At first, the American thought that the doctor would recommend yoga, proper breathing and the like, but he was very quickly surprised. They diagnosed him with cardiac arrhythmia, where his heart worked in such a way as if he were constantly running a marathon. If the problem is not discovered in the coming weeks, the results could be fatal. At the moment, Bob has had a successful heart surgery and he owes everything to his Apple Watch.

The Apple VR headset will offer two 8K displays and eye movement detection

In yesterday's summary from the world of Apple, we informed you about the imminent arrival of an Apple VR headset. In terms of design, it shouldn't differ much from existing competing models, but we might be surprised by its price tag, which is supposed to be literally astronomical. The magazine arrived today The Information with a series of hot additional information and we have to admit that we definitely have a lot to look forward to. The source of this news is allegedly an anonymous entity that has direct knowledge of the upcoming product.

The headset itself should be equipped with more than a dozen different cameras that will take care of monitoring hand movements, which goes hand in hand with two 8K displays and advanced eye movement sensing technology. In addition, the aforementioned cameras could transmit an image from the surroundings to the headset in real time and display it to the user in a modified form. There has also been speculation about the use of replaceable headbands, while one of them could offer Spatial Audio technology, which, for example, the AirPods Pro headphones are proud of. This would further significantly improve the overall experience as the feature would be able to take care of providing surround sound. You could immediately exchange this headband for another one that would offer, for example, an additional battery.

Very interesting news is then the mention of the use of advanced technology for sensing eye movement. At the moment, however, it is not entirely clear how this gadget could be used. Already yesterday we bit off the already mentioned astronomical price tag. The latest information is about the fact that Apple has agreed on an amount of around 3 thousand dollars (that is, less than 65 thousand crowns). The goal of the Cupertino company is to create a unique and premium product, where it wants to sell only 250 units in the first year of sales.
