Last fall, a few weeks after the release of the iPhone XR, as the last model from last year's product line, the editors of the server 9to5mac discovered several references in iOS 12 about battery covers (so-called Smart Battery Cases), which should arrive on the market. About a month after the publication of this information, it happened, and users looking for extended battery life of their phones could purchase a battery case for their iPhone XR/XS/XS Max. The same is happening now, so it can be assumed that packaging with integrated batteries will arrive for the current product line as well.

iOS 13.1 once again includes several hints that new battery covers will arrive. Specifically, there are three different models for the three new iPhones. The model designation of these covers is A2180, A2183 and A2184. Just like last year, it is not clear when the covers will arrive this year. However, due to the same start of sales of all this year's novelties, it can be expected that it will be earlier than last year. Last year, the iPhone XR arrived on the market with a significant delay, so the release of covers had to be delayed.

Even though the new iPhones have significantly improved battery life (up to 4 and 5 hours for the Pro and Pro Max models, respectively), these cases are a very practical addition for someone who travels a lot and spends a lot of time away from the mains. For the iPhone XS Max, the Smart Battery Case can extend battery life by up to 20 hours in multimedia viewing mode. Does the Smart Battery Case still make sense with the new models, or do you think the battery life of the new iPhones is long enough that such accessories are unnecessary?
