It's one thing to show various measurements about your health, it's another to actively help if something actually happens. The Apple Watch is a fairly comprehensive health tool that benefits many users. However, together with iPhones, they should learn to automatically call for help in the event of a traffic accident.

The function is very similar to the one already offered by the Apple Watch, namely fall detection. If you fall and you don't click the message on your watch that you are fine, they will call you for help. They should also be able to do this in the event of recognizing a traffic accident. However, the iPhone itself should also receive this news. And since this should be a software issue, it might not just be about the latest devices.

Google the leader?

The problem is, of course, in recognizing that it really is a traffic accident. This is also why Apple is said to have been working on this function for over a year, when it began collecting the appropriate data. Writing such an algorithm afterwards is probably much more complicated than just falling. Apple is sure to promote this feature, which we hope none of our readers will ever use. But he certainly won't be the first to offer it.

If we're talking about phones, the company's biggest rival, Google, already introduced this function in its Pixel 3. And that was in October 2018. So when Apple introduces it next year, it will be only four years late. But as we know him, we can be sure that he will bring it to perfection. After all, the alleged 50 measured traffic accidents, from which he can evaluate the data, will also play for him. In addition, Google does this with the help of the evaluation of data from the accelerometer and other sensors, Apple should go for it with the force of gravity. Moreover, its feature is only supported in certain countries, whereas Apple could bring it worldwide.

eCall system

Such functions should not be underestimated, because any help that can save a human life is important. However, it should be mentioned that Apple will not be second (after Google) in this regard. This is also because various automatic traffic accident reporting systems are already implemented directly in cars. One is called eCall, for example, and it was already launched in 2018. Yes, that is, the same year that Google introduced its Pixel 3. In the event of a traffic accident, this system can contact the emergency number 112 without human help.

emergency call

As he writes ePojištění.cz so in addition, this system must be installed in all cars and trucks manufactured after April 1, 2018, it also includes a microphone and a small speaker. While the on-board unit automatically sends a signal, the microphone and speaker is important for communicating with the operators on the other end of the emergency line. After sending the signal, they call the crew of the vehicle and ask if they need help. If so, they forward the information to rescuers.
