Apple will face a class action lawsuit filed against it by more than 12 employees at its Apple Stores across California. They complain about "unpleasant and humiliating" searches of their bags when leaving stores, which were supposed to prevent theft.

Several thousand current and former employees of Apple Stores, who are represented by Amanda Friekinová and Dean Pelle in the collective action, do not like that the personal searches were carried out after working hours, lasted up to a quarter of an hour, and were not reimbursed in any way.

Circuit Judge William Alsup of San Francisco gave now to the original 2013 lawsuit "collective" status, and the employees are demanding compensation for lost wages, unpaid overtime and other compensation from Apple.

Just in case it was pointed out again this June, when it emerged that some employees of California Apple Stores even wrote an email to CEO Tim Cook to address the situation.

Apple tried to argue that the case should not gain class status because not all managers at the mentioned Apple Stores were checking bags and that the searches were so short that no one should want compensation, but now everything will finally go to court as a class action .
