Apple has been working every day since the release of the new Apple TV to improve the App Store that appeared in the first version of tvOS. After the addition of rankings, categories have now also been added, which will serve for easier navigation within the store. It was opened on an Apple set-top box for the very first time.

For now, the range of applications on Apple TV is not that wide, but they are increasing at a very fast pace, and together with their greater number, the categories of the App Store will also expand. It will no longer be necessary to browse applications randomly or enter the name of the application directly. Apple deploys categories gradually, so you may not see them until later.

In tvOS, Apple also offers users a significant simplification of purchasing applications, that is, especially those applications. In ours first experiences with the new Apple TV we wrote that it is advisable to turn off the need to enter a password, at least for free applications, because typing text on the on-screen keyboard is not entirely friendly.

However, Apple was aware of this fact, so in tvOS it is possible to replace your Apple ID password with a numeric code. You can write the one with the remote control much faster.

So if you need to have protected purchases on Apple TV as well, activate the number lock in Settings > Restrictions, where under Parental supervision first turn on restrictions, enter a four-digit code. Once you have chosen the code, activate it at Purchases and loans or In-app purchases.

If you want the App Store on Apple TV to not require passwords at all, you can do so in Settings > Accounts > iTunes & App Store > Password Settings.
