Math has never been my strong suit. I was always catching up on grades with geometry and homework. Arithmetic, algebra, various formulas and the like were never very interesting to me. So, I was quite surprised to test my brain convolutions along with logical thinking after a long time thanks to the minimalist math puzzle game The Mesh. It was selected as the application of the week for this week and is available for free download in the App Store.
The Mesh is the responsibility of the developers Creatiu Lab, who managed to create a catchy educational game. Without the slightest problem, I could imagine that the game could also be used in real math classes in primary and secondary schools. It perfectly combines logical thinking with the calculation of simple examples.
In the game, your task is to combine the numbered tiles in such a way that you get the desired value in the final sum. At the same time, you pay for mistakes with a place - as soon as you make a wrong calculation, the game takes away one or more tiles. The game ends when you have no tile, and logically you have to get the highest score possible.
The Mesh bets on amazing design and graphic control. The game is very minimalistic and, for example, when moving with numbers, you can witness very effective inflating tiles and other interesting effects. In the game, you will also work with basic mathematical operations, i.e. addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. You can change whether you want to add or subtract when you double tap on that number.
When you start it for the first time, a clear tutorial is also waiting for you, which you can return to at any time. In addition to the classic mode, you can also play the zen mode. You can also enjoy pleasant background music throughout the game, which enhances the game experience even more.
There are also various bonus sections, night modes, unlocking new animals and user upgrades while playing The Mesh. The Mesh is compatible with all iOS devices and can be downloaded for free in the App Store. The fact that the game does not contain any additional in-app purchases is also pleasant.
