For some time now, Apple in its App Store regularly announces the so-called App of the Week, i.e. the application of the week, which not only gets a prominent place on the main page for a week, but at the same time it can be obtained completely free of charge. At Jablíčkář, we will now bring you weekly reviews of these games and applications that deserve attention for various reasons.

The app of the week is currently a game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Rooftop Run, based on the well-known and successful comic about four turtles who fight against various gangsters and villains. You can play as Leo, Donnie, Raph, Mikey, but also April or Casey Jones.

The whole game is very simple and you only need one finger to control it. At the beginning of the game, you can always watch a short comic trailer that pleasantly introduces you to the story. Then you choose the character you want to play as and you can start the fight. The game uses a gameplay concept that you all know from other games and we can call it "jumpers".

In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Rooftop Run, you start on a rooftop where you are tasked with jumping between buildings while destroying enemies. To do this, you collect various bonuses and, above all, the green balls that recharge your energy, which you see in the upper left corner. Once you run out of this power line, an alien ship will always fly in and trap the turtle on board.

In the event that the energy reaches its maximum, there will be a bonus section in which you have the task of tapping the selected sectors on the display, thus triggering slow-motion combat sequences. For successfully defeating this bonus, you always get some kind of reward, and for three bonuses in a row comes a match with the boss.

In the game, you will run not only on different roofs, but you will also find yourself on the road in a turtle tank, in which you have the task of traveling the given route, avoiding various traps or obstacles and destroying enemies again. This section is always followed by a boss fight, a one-on-one in a turtle tank. Although different environments are constantly changing in the game, unfortunately they get boring very quickly and the mobile ninja turtles become stereotypical.

In terms of design, the game is nicely done and offers a number of different improvements and new characters that you can buy with in-app purchases, or after some time you can unlock them by playing for collected gold. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Rooftop Run doesn't have a spectacular story, but it can keep you entertained for a while during hot summer days.
