Filip Brož Today is Monday and with it comes the regular App of the Week series. This time, Apple prepared a puzzle game called God of Light. Right from the first impression, it is obvious that the game stands out for its graphics and personally, after playing it repeatedly, I rank it among titles such as B, Limbo or Monument Valley.
The main purpose of God of Light is to light up the entire space using adjustable mirrors while collecting all three gems each time. In each round, a cute round light is waiting for you in the form of the protagonist, who always sends out the first beam of light, and your task is to discover the hidden mirrors in the space and bring the light to a successful end. Along the way, you collect said gems and boldly continue to the next round.
But it wouldn't be a puzzle game if there wasn't a catch every now and then. I managed the first few laps without any problems. In others, I had to research and think a little more, as mirrors that can be moved to the sides also came into play. Suddenly the game takes on a different dimension. God of Light offers five game worlds and more than 125 levels. From this it clearly follows that the gaming potential is - especially in terms of the length of the game - considerable.
In the same way, in terms of graphics, the game does not falter at all and can dazzle with interesting animations and game environment. The only thing that has always bothered me while playing is the annoying in-app purchases in the form of little fireflies that can help you set up mirrors and discover them. You get some for free at the start of the game, but you run out of them after a while. You can also get them by watching an ad, which, of course, greatly disrupts the gaming experience.
God of Light can be downloaded in the App Store in the main menu under the App of the Week tab. The game is compatible with all iOS devices and is free. If you are a lover of puzzle games or looking for something new to beat boredom, God of Light might be a good choice.
