Yesterday, Google launched a new iOS application that until now parents with small children could only dream of - YouTube Kids. The US ad giant touts the app as the company's first product that was built with kids in mind from start to finish, and the app looks like that, too. YouTube Kids boasts a cheerful, colorful interface and, above all, programs tailored specifically for young children.

YouTube Kids content is divided into "Shows", "Music", "Learn" and "Discover". Under these headings, parents and their children will find many children's programs, children's songs and educational programs. Thanks to its affiliation with the giant video portal, YouTube Kids will also offer a showcase of popular shows from channels for the little ones, among which stand out, for example, Reading Rainbow, DreamWorks TV, Jim Henson TV, Mother Goose Club, Talking Tom and Friends and others, if we are talking about the American market in particular.

YouTube Kids is an interesting platform for parents also because the application offers handy tools to control it and thus have direct supervision over the activity of their children. For example, there is a timer that you can use to set the maximum amount of time a child can spend on YouTube. You can also turn off music or sound effects and block children from manual searches.

The application is available for iOS, Android and should soon also arrive on children's tablets such as Kurio or Nabi. But for Czech users, there is still one bad news: YouTube Kids is currently only available in the United States. However, the application is still in its infancy, it is trying to collect feedback from parents and gradually build the best possible product that both children and parents will really like to search for. So let's hope that YouTube Kids will reach us soon.
