In connection with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, careful and sufficiently prolonged hand washing is cited as an important prevention. All kinds of aids and instructions on how to observe the required time limit for washing hands are spreading on the Internet - often these are hints in the form of lyrics of popular songs. The simplest solution is, of course, to simply count down the twenty seconds, but if you enjoy using various tools and are an Apple Watch owner, you can use an application that calculates the interval for washing your hands by itself.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (and not only this center) recommends that we wash our hands for at least twenty seconds, not only during a pandemic. You can count down this time yourself (for example, following the example of Ross from the series Friends count Mississippi), or you can call your Apple smartwatch for help. You can either set a timer on those (by pressing the digital crown, selecting the native application Minuteman -> Custom, and setting it to twenty seconds - see gallery), or you can buy an application from the App Store that counts down twenty seconds.

The application is called Hand Washing Timer and is completely free to download. You can launch it either from the application menu after pressing the digital crown, or you can add its complication to your favorite watch face, from where launching the application will be quick and easy. After starting, a twenty-second time limit will begin to count down, the expiration of which will be notified by Apple Watch with a haptic response and an audio signal. In addition, the Hand Washing Timer application can also provide you with the necessary instructions for hand washing technique.
