Nothing is perfect, which of course also applies to products with the bitten apple logo. From time to time, therefore, some error appears, which can be, for example, critical, or, on the contrary, rather funny. It is the latter variant that now plagues the native weather app in iOS 14.6. For some reason, the program cannot cope with displaying a temperature of 69 °F, and instead displays 68 °F, or 70 °F.

Check out the new Focus mode in iOS 15:

In our area, probably few people will encounter this problem, because instead of Fahrenheit degrees, we use Celsius degrees here. After all, this applies practically to the whole world. Fahrenheit degrees are only found in Belize, Palau, the Bahamas, the Cayman Islands and, of course, the United States of America, the so-called homeland of the apple company. Although apple growers have been warning about the error for some time now, it is still not certain what actually causes it. In addition, Apple did not comment on the whole situation.

Apple Weather can't display 69°F

No one even knows how long the bug has been in iOS. As such, The Verge tested several older devices, with an iPhone running iOS 11.2.1 showing 69°F as normal. In any case, a rather interesting theory appeared on the Twitter social network, which seems quite plausible and probable. The culprit could be rounding on the condition that the temperature is first calculated, i.e. converted from °C to °F. This is complemented by the fact that the temperature is displayed with one decimal number. While 59 °F is equal to 15 °C, that 69 °F is equal to 20,5555556 °C.

Although it is a rather funny mistake, it could certainly have caused someone trouble. But we definitely must not forget to mention that on the beta version of the iOS 15 operating system, 69 °F is already displayed flawlessly. Apple probably noticed the complaints of apple users and fortunately solved this ailment.
